Holy Jesus Hugh - I love your self depreciating comments near the end of this clip, but hey! surely you must appreciate that you are as iconic as the people you mention when you were talking about the 51 Club?!?! The Stranglers were such a big thing in my life as a youngster back in the late 70's/early 80's and I LOVE dipping into your stuff.... SO iconic!.... and much pleasure!
My own personal musical landscape would be bleak and a bit cack without Hugh. Read his autobiographie a good few times and am looking forward to reading his novels but I still can't get my hands on a copy of Song By Song which I've been after since before A Multitude Of Sins. I really need that book ! Great interview, thanks for posting.😎
Time to die… great wee song… hanging around…. Get a grip on yourself… too many too name… let me down easy….. north winds blowing… in my top 5 stranglers song…. And live mind blowing…. Keyboards
Tremendous musician.. Hugh cornwell … I mean down in the sewer live .. in the late 70s.. Glasgow epic track cressndo ending…. He has wrote some class music… and his style of guitar playing.. not easy… it’s hard work… h don,t like woke folk… and he is correct about the woke… culture… he insists it stops creativity… any way… the stranglers still cutting the groove…
I met Hugh in the early 80s, very nice guy and he took the time for an inexperienced college journalist to interview him

He hasn't changed much in 40 years. Still see it's him and he looks young and healthy
Great interviewer!
And Mr Cornwell is great also, of course.
Excellent interview!! Hugh is always great on recordings and live!!
Honest to himself moving on from The Stranglers, total respect. Straight talker too, top bloke.
Yep! He certainly is. 😎
Very interesting interview!
Hugh feeling unworthy in Dead Loss Angeles? My how times have changed.
Hugh looks very good.
He's 66 Year.
Not meant as a dig or disrespect as I love Hugh's work, said in a lighthearted way, he always reminded me of Steve Davis the snooker player 😂😊 x
😆!!! No way man! That's mental!
Hugh forgot the Stranglers played there in 79😊
Hugh Has Written Great Songs In His Solo Career, they would have been brilliant Stranglers Records If he had stayed.
Ledge 🌹
