I was a young boy living in CA at the time and still remember being terrified to sleep every night because of this guy, imagining him climbing in my window kept me up once it got dark.
That must’ve sucked ~ sorry you had THAT as a childhood memory 😞
@@mrs.dr.spencerreid3992 at least it isn’t my only one :)
@@Ender7j ~ Thank goodness ‼️. Replace those frightening memories of Richard with the GREATEST childhood memories you have IMMEDIATELY when they pop into your head.
Omg, you poor thing. I can only imagine how scary that was. Glad they caught him🙏🏼
In the summer of 1985, my mother, baby brother, and myself were woken up at 2 am by police who had guns drawn. My father was out on the road with his band and my mom always picked up when he'd call home at night. He tried repeatedly, but she never answered that night. Ramirez's car had also just been spotted taking the highway exit into our neighborhood that evening. My dad had the neighbors go to our house but they couldn't get my mom to come to the door. My dad finally called the police and they came into our house to do a wellness check.
Fast forward to about 2012 and I'm dating a woman here in Hawaii. She casually mentioned that she'd been a pen pal of Ramirez's for a little while. I laughed my ass off. She acted like it was just an innocent curiosity. I didn't buy it. I told her that because of my childhood, I was very familiar with the Ramirez case and therefore knew all about his groupies.
It’s wild that he spent 23 years in prison and still wasn’t executed. Hard to see a point in a death sentence if it takes so long for it to even occur.
That's one of the most baffling things about the death sentence to me. A lot of people spend decades in death row, what's the reason for it?
California for you they had 600 + on death row and they almost never not at all these days last 1 was 2006 so most die in prison
It's inexcusable.
@@rickquist3992 , yep. California is run by liars. They say they have death penalty & put them on death row but NEVER execute them. The people vote for the death penalty but they don't care.

They nickname serial killers by a commonality. It's not like the nickname is intentional. Otherwise, how'd you distinguish what hypothetical killer is the "Poopy Face Killer" and the "Dumbfuck Killer"?
Actually he smelled glorious, like a meadow of roses. They exclude this fact in the video .
I remember summers in LA. My parents house had no A/C. I couldn’t breathe with the window closed because of the heat. I couldn’t sleep with it open because of Ramirez. I left the window open two inches and slept with one eye open. Charles Manson’s “Family” was worse because they killed the LaBiancas a block from my school. The Hillside Strangler Angelo Buono lived eight blocks away. I’m surprised I’m still alive.

My mom was living in the area Ramirez was killing during that time. One night, she saw someone lurking outside her window, so she grabbed the phone and yelled "I'm calling the police!" And the figure ran away. The next day she found out that Ramirez had killed someone a couple blocks away that night. Who was the victim
I was 16 in the summer of 1984 and had visited Southern California for the first time ever with my dad for vacation for a month long vacation. I remember my dad reading aloud about Ramierz first murder at the time. No one knew then just how terrible he would turn out to be just a year later. Scary. This whole thing maybe wouldn't have happened had that couple in the hotel pressed charges when Ramirez was 17. Never fails to amaze me how people who are victims simply don't want to get involved. They are the victims, and by deciding not to pursue it, they always will be.
Sound articulation!
Maybe not. But if he got convicted, he would go to jail for however long and get out again. Then he may attempt again. If he was gonna do it, he was gonna do it. But thats just my opinion
Truth is victims are mocked and disbelieved CONSTANTLY. Our society has to address this reaction if we want things to change. Condemning victims instead of taking them seriously impacts ALL of us 💔
He would have probably got out sooner or later and would start up bigger than he had been because prisons and jails are nothing but schools that teach criminals how to get by with more and more crimes even more and better from other prisoners these days!!!!!
hindsight is 20/20, they couldn’t have possibly known what would happen so it’s irrational to blame them. plus the process of reporting a crime is extremely degrading to the victims, especially with sexual assault.
People should unfortunately always be afraid to leave their doors unlocked and their windows closed.
Maybe if we didn't give serial killers such cool
names like "The Night Stalker", and we'd
instead call them like "The Small PeePee Killer"
we'd have less serial killers

My dad was at San Quentin a long time ago, he was the person who would pass out food to the death row inmates. I asked him about some of the people. I asked him about Ramirez and he said that everytime he gave him his food it felt like his body was empty, like his soul left. He also took his cookies. I asked why? He said because he asked some inmates what they like about their meals, the cookies. He has a rule, if you killed women or children he takes your cookies. It reminded them of the outside world. So my dad would take Ramirez's cookies.
Great story.
Tell your dad he’s cool
Treating inmates poorly reflects worse on the the person rather than the inmate. We have laws to protect innocent people like you and I. By inflicting vigilantly justice like that, no matter how small, debases that system. It doesn't matter what he did, your dad was supposed to take care of a group of human beings EQUALLY but instead discriminated against another human being. Don't lower yourself to the prisoner's level. That's what makes us better, that we don't act like them, ever.
Did Ramirez ever question him about what happened to his cookies? Like did he ever threaten him to stop stealing them or he would do some satanic voodoo attack on him🙈🤣

A crucial detail left out is that it was incredibly hard to pin point the murders on the same killer due to the lack of an identical MO. What linked everything together was the shoe print left at every murder scene, which belonged to a very limited series of sneakers.
he changed his sneakers and got away with more murders after…
Right ! A distinctive set of Aerobic shoes that had just came out Women did Aerobics not men Only one sz 11 had been sold in all of Los Angeles imagine that ! Why ? Because not many women wear size 11 Richard wore 12+1/2
Those shoes were never found anywhere on or in the belongings of Richard Ramirez However ; the only person who had the same exact pair size 11 was a summer intern who just happened to be at the crime lab on the same day they had the shoe casting for analysis ( something else) you'll never be told again but was included in the very first documentary made immediately following Richard's arrest and with only one pair of that exact same shoe she had in the trunk of her car being sold in Los Angeles when the Avia shoe first was produced what does that tell you? Just perhaps she wore size 11 and just maybe she was a good friend of the detective who came up with this theory and he had everyone believing it after more murders were committed and the same shoe was found outside in the mud in this day and age that case would have never made it past the district attorney they would have left them out of court okay but this was back before DNA was used this was back before they had to have much much more to even get a murder case past the prosecutor this case was a joke created by a liar who continues lying to a whole new audience and they're eating it up
@@tng150 He never wore those sneakers they were a size and a half too small , were never found and belonged to a woman who was a summer intern at the crime lab Avia Aerobic shoes only one pair sold at that time in all of Los Angeles which by the way is huge
That detective did it and killed all those old people ! He's now finding new victims through his popularity with his ever-changink Netflix series so ridiculous so outrageous it's what made me finally pay attention after all these years now that Richard's Dead and gone and they continue crucifying him and calling themselves Christians
It's actually not left out at all lol. In fact from 17:57 to 21:16 is entirely about that! About how hard it was and how long it took the cops to realize they had a serial killer on their hands because of how different the MO was. But yes, the sneaker print was unfortunately and weirdly unmentioned.
He also kidnapped a 6 year-old girl in LA , took her back to his apartment and raped her for hours, then let her go. Told her to. "Go call your Mom and Dad."
He was a child rapist as well.
Dont forget ALL THE VICTIMS.
The Netflix documentary covers all that. It was brutal listening to her account but also great to see she was very adamant about having moved on, built herself a life and being by surrounded by a loving family.
His first known victim was a 9 year old Chinese girl up in SF.
The Netflix series touches upon it but it’s amazing how nobody in prison went after this POS child killer and r apist.
A part that wasn’t mentioned, before RR was attacked by the mob, he went to a local liquor store to purchase something. He grabs a paper and sees his pic and runs. @anon it’s more the fact that someone can be given the death penalty but later found out to be innocent. The government doesn’t want to kill someone and have their family sue them because they were later on proven to be innocent by DNA evidence. It’s only happened a select few times in more recent history but people have been given the death penalty and killed then later found to be innocent all together or framed. They also have to take the time to prepare everything for the sentence to be carried out, they don’t want to inject someone with the wrong amount of chemicals and that person not die because then by Federal law (no cruel or unusual punishment) they can not try again (trying again would be cruel and unusual punishment) and must under a judges orders release or keep that person in prison.

i dont condone what he did but unfortunately like so many cases of murderers he was a victim of his own upbringing. his dad was a lunatic alcoholic abusing him since very young then fast forward to his early teens his cousin introduced him to drugs as well as exposing him to very graphic material about the vietnam war not to mention witnessing his cousin murder his own girlfriend/wife in front of richard. maybe those circumstances did not play a roll in how it affected richard but in my opinion it played a huge roll.
He was a poor baby. He didn’t do nuthin’
Why they do mean to richly? Aw……….I’m sad.
I 💯
I Agree 😲💯
You're opinion should be an absolute fact.
It did play a role
Lmao dude says “a boy that’s been taking marijuana” 🤣🤣🤣
In 1985 If this guy was stalking in Compton, or South central( LA) neighborhoods I don't think he would have lasted long at all
@King of EBLA facts you are 💯 percent correct
@You're under 19 don't argue 100% correct. One of the things that people need to keep in mind is that Richard Ramirez was a hobo who was always moving from place to place. Stealing jewelry was one of his main intentions with his break ins.
Not just south central…South Gate ,Lynwood ,Huntington Park ,Cudahy …East LA ..homies would of been ready haha he only went to rich places where rich old ppl lived
The man that blamed marijuana lol
Wtf would you ever allow someone like him to enjoy the privilege of marriage while on death row??
Change the laws
I had a rough childhood and I suffered some severe trauma manic and severe depression bipolar2 ptsd and anxiety and some paranoia but it have never ever crossed my mind during any of my manic episodes to hurt some one harm someone or even take there life I enjoy being free even with my unstableness I’m still fine I’m still being a good mother and wife and taking my meds
I don't mean to be 'judgmental' against the law enforcement in this Case but...OMG...this guy was eventually caught by a group of civilians that took the law into their hands to eventually have him arrested...R.I.P. all those that died at his hands and my prayers to the family an friends that were left to pick up the pieces............
Its very easy to critizice the police behind a keyboard
Detectives and analysts worked day and night to put together enough clues to ID him. What led to his chase and arrest was his picture on the front of La Opinion (local Spanish language newspaper), which happened as a result of dogged police work.
You should be judgemental of law enforcement t your taxes pay for their ineptitude
It was just by chance and synchronicity...brilliant
Not an organized vigilante grp
Frankly I lived in the valley at this time and you have NO IDEA how crazy life was... you can't imagine how much of this was going on. No fat lazy detectives there. This guy was a moving shadow in a city of millions!!!!
U didn’t bring up the head trauma he suffered as a child by the wooden swing by to his head that literally knocked him out. And it has been documented that many of the psychopathic killers suffered some kind of blunt injury to the head. It was noted that after Richard suffered this injury to his head his personality changed. U also didn’t mention the fact that his sister’s husband had a hand in shaking him. He was a peeping Tom who taught Richard how to stalk homes. Also his robberies came from his addiction to drugs which is also a factor. You seriously need to read Carlos’s book. And him gouging out the woman’s eyes. He specifically told her not to look at him as he did with all his female victims. And she didn’t listen. The book is out of print but not impossible to get. According to the book which follows the two famous cops who caught him uh got this all wrong and I can’t even finish this.
This channel has not made this documentary.
Woodcut Media and Sky Television has.
Episode aired May 7, 2018
they didn't say any of the things u mentioned were wrong they just didn't bring it up. ur probably super fun at parties
not to mention his seizures after the head trauma
@@depressed.lemonade yea I remember. I read the book by Carlo. He had two incidents with head trauma. And the later causing epilepsy. I think it should’ve been mentioned bcuz he was psycho bcuz he was born that way. He was later made that way.
@@darkangelparanormal2738 What is the title of the book, I would love to read it.
“I’ll see you in Disneyland”
-Ramirez
broke as hell, i go to disney *world* so no i will not see u in disneyland
The Narrators voice just wasn’t it for this.
I was eleven in San Francisco. My mom and I were so scared
This is one of my favorite cases to listen to
Same love Richard case he is so intriguing
@@kreyzeepsychoproductions4645 your username checks out.
@@casey8083 It sure does 🤣
@@kreyzeepsychoproductions4645 I feel bad for ur home life
Yeesh I didn’t know finding a killer’s case so intriguing was considered out of the norm. Serial killers can be very interesting without having adoration or respect for them. Or do you all just love to assume and insult to make yourselves feel better? What a pathetic and shallow way to live.
Well Dahmer was originally arrested and sent to prison for a time. But that didn’t help, cause he picked up where he left off once he got out.
You guys failed to mention that the attempted murders, the kidnapping/sexual assaults of the random children. The murder/sexual assault of 9 year old Mei Leung which wasn't solved til 09.
Edit: Mei was his first murder. Smh.
Yes, the children..why not mention them..
@@emilye126 they like to coddle criminals
My guess is that they have time constraints they have to fit within, but I could be wrong
Ive read some of the families were lucky solely bc the children were home and he wouldnt do anything… not saying im right or ur wrong im just stating what ive read and seen.
I absolutely despise the media getting involved with murder cases because for the serial killer they're motivating them. They see their actions bring them attention and that fuels their motivation. The dilemma is the fact that the media allows people to be more cautious
You know your serial killers a bit too well
Sadly I think its a necessary evil, but I do agree with you. Better to warn the public so they are better prepared, even if it means giving the killer some level of satisfaction
He took her eyes and put in a jewelry box ? Omg 😳 👁️👁️ that’s scary - prayers for the victims 🙏🙏🙏 n family’s
I was in San Quentin and almost got shot because of him I came out of the shell hole too fast and almost bumped into him. He was being escorted from the Infirmary and nobody secure the door I came out of. As my face was being slammed up against the wall I could see he had a big smile on his face was just looking around highasakite.
Pity you never got to have man love with him and take his 🍑 'ole from him without his consent.
@Ray Aguirre Did anybody put hands on him in there?
@@earllewis1229 not that I know of that was my only run in with the guy. He had way too much protection around him.
@@rayaguirre2084 You should have had man love with him and taken it from him vato loco. Chale holmes!
@@rayaguirre2084 he got into a fight with Scott Peterson I heard and also in a yard a guy stabbed him one time and when he went out again idk if it was the same guy, the podcast didn’t specify from what I remember…but he tried to stab him and then after that he never went out in the yard again btw heard this on the podcast death row diaries, but warning though it’s hard to listen to because other awful stuff was mentioned.
How can you “feel very good” about catching a serial killer AFTER he’s killed over a dozen people?! What took so long!?
They definitely should not have chosen that wording, but, we have to remember that this happened in the 80's. DNA, which is used to solve MOST crimes nowadays, was not a thing then.
Police departments didn't share info unless absolutely necessary
And Ramirez didn't have a "standard" M.O
He used different weapons, victim type was different every time.
The only thing that would have been helpful to finding him was the fact he stuck around Cali
If he had traveled a little bit more, he may have never been caught, simply because what he left in his wake would seem like it was at the hands of different people
They explain why in the video
Demons are not the ugly scary looking creatures we think they are. They can be quite incredibly beautiful and alluring, so women become enchanted.
Lucifer was supposedly 1 of the most beautiful fallen Angels.
I've met hot ass demons myself and even banged a couple.
Giving a false name is the key to survival around them. 🏆
Also super surprised it took you so long to add him to this channel..
Ppl who abuse elders should go to jail until they old then have some abuse them back
Isn't that like IRAQI justice, let's be civilized ok
Dude was a nutty for sure.
I remember this
I've only ever watched one doc on him, never again! So sick 😪
Hello Maggie
How are you doing today?
The narrator makes me feel like I'm watching a soccer game
If he enjoyed what he was hearing seeing and being told then he wasn’t good from the beginning. Any good person with good intentions wouldn’t be lead astray like this if evil didn’t exist within already. There has to be a point where you say ok this isn’t right. If not then, your soulless…
What's the point of talking about souls and evil because it has zero analysis value. He clearly had traumatic upbringing and a host of mental illness, cluster A personality disorders but maybe some from cluster B as well.
We had a family friend who was supposed to spend the night at her friends house, but the plans fell through. That night she was supposed to sleep over, Ramirez broke into her friend’s house and murdered their entire family.
I know this is serious but that Peter Pan part made me chuckle 🤭
Contrary to popular belief: Peter Pan IS NOT a wash basin in a house of ill repute! I'll show myself out!
Yeah man 😂😂😂😂😂
Peter Pan & his wife were a lovely Asian couple who didn't deserve to die.
