Originally we were in Derby to do the old Friar Gate Gaol, but how could we refuse the kind offer to continue our night across the road in the replacement prison, Vernon Gate Prison. We were going to just tack this on the end of Derby Gaol, but it became a whole new episode in its own right. An intriguing place with equally intriguing history!
