Sir, not only fishermen wrote in that book, but also priests, kings, prophets, doctors, and many others. written over a period of 2000 years and perfectly in sync. I did start thinking for myself and when it came down to it, Jesus Christ made the most sense.
Jars of Clay have tapped into another realm, they have had a glimpse of the 'secret', hence anything they produce will just have 'class' written all over it. Thumbs up from me!
I prayed a lot before replying to your message. About 6 months ago I had a revelation from God Himself to preach the gospel to kids who are in the Rock culture big time. Nothing wrong with that, but I was not getting any response, mainly because they did not feel comfortable around me due to the way I looked. I switched up my style.. got tattoos and piercings and now they give me the time of day. To judge this man for wearing nail polish is from a religious spirit, so you may want to pray hard.

I long for the love that you all share for each other. The friendship that is so intense after a long time touring and playing together for the Love of God leading you towards music and each other.

They're making the point that we're really all dead men. Dead in sin. (Rom. 6:23 "wages of sin is death," and we're all sinners). There's nothing we can do on our own, only by God's grace. So "carry me," means asking God to help them. Get rid of the old, dead to sin self and breathe in NEW life. Life with Christ. Love this song b/c it's such a good picture of what life with Christ is like. It is freeing. It is like new breath. We get new hearts, new minds, renewed spirits. That's my take.:)
Back when air one was actually worth putting on the radio. Now they only appeal to people who listen to worship music. Can't even reach alternative listeners that use to listen to the radio station.
You know what? Jars Of Clay is still one of my favorite bands! But I do yet can’t find their proposal... I’m just tired of reaching so many videos of them playing ONLY acoustic! I can’t understand why they can’t get a full band to, let’s say, officially record a live. Why the fuck a band of four guys who reached the Good Monters album level cannot play drums?! I mean, none of them?! And even bass?!! Wtf! At least, once in your lives, guys, you’d try to rock all around the world because your awesome!!! I just mourn.
