    Now let's all sit down and eat cookies.

    If that was my daughter I would be leaving the Tyra Show in hand cuffs. His ass would be dead on that stage, then I would go after his mother and father for raising a woman beater.

    • @candicebenson1120
      @candicebenson1120 10 лет назад +2

      And then we would see where your child got her abusive ways from in the first place.
      You cannot tell a child not to be fight in a relationship and then turn around handle the situation by fighting. Teach your daughter to be a lady, and she would never be in this position anyway.
      Show don't tell.

    • @morganlatrice7671

      How would it be my fault if my daughter was beaten by her boyfriend? You obviously don't have any children because if you did you would know you would hurt someone for hurting your child. For you to say a "lady" wouldn't be in this situation is ignorant. And I don't believe I asked you for parenting advice. But since we are exchanging advice, maybe you should not put yourself in situations you know nothing about. Don't wanna raise nosey kids that get themselves into trouble for poking their noses into other people's business.

      My husband and I have a two sons and a daughter Morgan, and I am raising her with poise, grace and to be a young woman. I can tell by the way this little girl in the video is talking that her mother is not raising her that way. And the boy even said that she jumps in his face and tests him. I have sons, and one thing I have noticed is that even when the girl is wrong, she is victimised and is made out to be a monster. Just like this 17 year old boy. I am not saying he is right for putting his hands on her, but nor is she. I hate it when we give these little bad ass girls a pass, and blame the boy telling him he has a problem. A man raises to the level of his woman, we as women hold the power, and a woman of substance and self respect would never allow things to escalade this far. There are signs and red flags in the beginning before it even gets to this point, and its our job as parents to teach our children. Look at the little girl, she's raised in a single parent home, which means that she more than likely doesn't even know what healthy communication between a man and a woman looks like, because she doesn't see it. This whole situation is messed up, and I can tell by your response to it that you're a single mother lol. But hey, bless you and your children Morgan.

    Tyra may be a supermodel, but that doesn't make her "stupid." If you know anything about her past, she's had to go through a lot of shit to get where she is now. Besides, she covers things that no body would have the right sense of mind to cover, such as teen abuse & teenage sex and pregnancy. Tyra should be someone to look up to, not someone to bash.

  • @pite9

    There is no such thing as being pushed too far. Even if she's a pain in the ass, you have to make a choice in how to deal with the situation. Either you deal with it respectfully, by trying to reason with her, or break up if it never stops, or you go for the quick fix and take advantage of your physical advantage. Hitting your gf just proves that he lacks patience, and that he isn't intelligent enough to discuss problems, which is two of the most important qualities in a life partner and father.

    If I guy even slapped me I would slap his ass out of my life. No one should be treated like this. And same goes for if the abuser was a woman, she hits him, be best be expecting a black eye. Have some dignity and leave his ass if he or she don't treat you like you should be.

    I went to high school with these two and both of them were really cool, especially Edwin. However, when the two of them got together it went downhill. They stopped going to school, were arrested, and had a baby. This show was filmed 4 years ago, and they appeared on another tv show for the same thing and last I heard they're still together. They don't want to be helped, they want publicity or money.

  • @NfiniteRage

    Ok before tyra interrupted him he said he was antagonized to his breaking point. Are we seriously going to ignore the girl's role in this? If she's hitting him and egging him on to get a rise out of him why is her abuse towards him ignored and not addressed? As men we're taught to walk away from these crazy women but what the fuck are supposed to when they are in your face hitting and slapping you. She said she is desensitized to it. The reason is she is desensitized to it is because she likes it. Women like drama because it excites them. They get a rise out of conflict because anything else is boring a and a normal relationship is boring. I am so sick of this narrative being regurgitated that women are victims when they are just as responsible for their abuse towards men as men are for their abuse towards women.

    This described my thoughts exactly! Not only does Tyra give responses that reflect her lack of knowledge on whatever it is she's talking about, she's also been rude to so many of her guests in her show! So it's seriously beyond me why people choose to go to her show to be publicly humiliated, potentially have her and her audience shout rude things at them without actually solving the problem they initially went for...

    Spent my senior year of high school through the end of my freshman year in college with an extremely abusive man. Even now, years later, I haven't told a lot of people (including my family) about it from embarrassment, a lot of these guys have serious narcissistic problems, and know how to manipulate. I didn't see the situation I was in until it was too late. Thank goodness I was able to get out of it and finish college and start my career.

    From personal experience from an ex abusing me for 2 years both mental and psychical it's not as easy as you think to leave or speak out. You feel embarassed to admit it so you stay quite, you hear threats, your told no one will want you, your told your disgusting and your lucky to have them in your life. It's hard to leave esp when they say they want to change. I hope anyone in this situation has a loved too look out for them like i did.

  • @l3rooklynp
    @l3rooklynp 11 лет назад

    It is so important to know the person you're with. Any woman who know her man has grown up in an abusive home knows not to instigate a fight. Not at all saying it's her fault, however, if you hit someone (no matter the gender) expect a reaction.
    I myself was in an abusive relationship in high school and was lucky enough to get out of it before it turned too ugly. Others aren't so lucky. Victims of abusive need to speak up so that both people involved can find help.

I'm not saying that the relationship should be if I hurt you you can hurt me back and vice versa that will be our "equality". It's obvious they both need help in how to handle their anger in a healthy way.

    I see a lot of comments of people saying why didn't she leave the first time he hit her or so on these types of relationships don't start with physical abuse it's the emotional abuse it starts with and you're left with so self esteem. You don't tell when it starts because you think no one will believe you or nothing will happen to help you or it could even make things worse. I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years and it took me that long leave it.

    The biggest issue I have with Tyra in these types of interviews is that she doesn't seem to listen what her guests are saying. She puts words into their mouths and seems to just read her rehearsed lines to them instead of actually thinking about what the guest has just said and giving an appropriate response. One thing I like about Oprah is that while she does speak her mind, she also listens.

    I don't understand how the boyfriend can sit there with a completely calm face. He's acknowledging that he beat up this girl (and yes, I know she hit him too), and he's just... chilling. It's also scary how calmly the girl talks about how they physically fight.

    You know, i will say this about the mom because everyone is getting on her for not being overly angry, and not "knocking him out". But just think about this, the daughter is saying that this is the first time she is really telling the mother, and of course the mom knows something is going on because they are on the tyra show. and no matter the suspicions the mother can have, nothing can honestly prepare you for hearing something like that from someone you love and on national t.v. its hurtful.

    They honestly just need to separate. It's not easy though, I thought I was in "love". I went through that fighting shit everyday for over a year... and it took the last major fight for me to finally say forget this I'm done. but i realized I should have said that when the first fight occurred. Lesson Learned.

    Damn :( this is brutal. We need systems that press for safer dating between teens and young adults so that they can lead healthy futures. Start pressing this from childhood and the power of critically thinking and self confidence!

    My thought exactly. Plus, everyone in that room had already decided that he is the crazy abuser and punches out anger without thinking before he even sat down in that chair. Tyra didn't even react more than "are you afraid she's gonna hit you too?". It takes two to tango in this case and if Tyra would just grill that girl a bit you would find some bits and pieces ppl might need to get the whole picture...

    I honestly feel truly terrible for her, when a girl gets abused she ignores it. My boyfriend would call me fat and I went into deep anorexia and reached 98 pounds at 5.4 it was very scary. He would punch me whenever I didn't please him and he would shout at me and call me terrible things. I had to get a therapist for 2 years because I was so frightened that he would attack me. abuse isn't funny.

    If it were that simple then people would leave but obviously its not as simple as people think. Take it from someone who has been in an abusive relationship, it is harder than it seems and it is very painful and in some cases its very dangerous to try and leave. We can try and get help from police but there is only so much that they can do and it wont always stop the abuser.
