This is awesome! I may track down a couple of channels and turn them into some kind of preamp rack

You should. I think when I was posting this a couple racking vids came up. Looks like a really good idea

@@nickidenmate I’ve spent all morning researching it. Looks like a pain to source a rack to mount it in and also get a power supply made.
Might make a DIY kit as that’d be fun. Think you made one before?
Although I’ve seen that Behringer just brought out a 2 channel Neve 1073 ripoff which is a good price: might be crap but MusicTribe (who own Behringer) make components for everyone so that have the resources to use the same parts as the high end brands

@PherotoneStudios yeah building a power supply for the rack mounted challenge I can see being a problem. I didn’t even think of looking into Musictribe resources. That’s a really good idea.

I’ve got a 1516 in great condition 3.5k Aud. But… there are a few channels that need a good clean. Any help with dismantling the channels without breaking anything, would be amazing!

Yes absolutely. I am about to film the 2nd video for this restore for this and I’ll put in a part for taking out a channel strip for sure. Have you used the 1516 a lot for recoding?
