I love this standard of puzzle - the variety of killer cages, kropki dots, X-sums and different lines keep it interesting. I set other puzzles for various audiences and aspire to set some variant sudokus for members of small community groups that I am involved with to try. I have ideas for killer cages and the design of lines, but don't really know where to start. Any ideas to help me would be greatly appreciated!
I would suggest opening a setting tool (SudokuMaker, f-puzzles, penpa, etc.) and experimenting with the ideas you have. Try and find some interactions that are interesting and build the puzzle around those 🙂
@michaelmatter1222 Wow! Thank you so much for your response! I spent an evening playing with SudokuMaker - drawing lines and adding cages etc and managed to create a Suduko with a unique solution in about an hour. I then tried to solve it, decided it was too hard for the audiences that I set puzzles for, so added more clues to make it easier. I'm really enjoying experimenting with ideas on it and am really impressed with SudokuMaker. Thank you for your advice - you never know, you may see one of my puzzles on this channel some day!
Very clean and thoughtful solve that was essentially lock-step with the intended path, well done! Thanks for the great feature 🙂(Cheers from 99%Sneaky) p.s. The title is a Lord of the Rings reference, also a second breakfast is always messier than the first haha.
that felt like the author just grabbed a bunch of random rules from the box and threw it at the sudoku lol 😄 was fun none the less... even though I messed up 1st try and had to start over ... PS: something seems off with your audio today
15:21 even with so many hints I got lost because I misses the 5 looking at R4C5 😅
Thanks! 😊
21:59 to solve. Superb puzzle! Really appreciate your channel Sir!
29:41. Great puzzle, slightly easier than I thought.
Finished in 28:22. A tough but fair sudoku.
You get a bonus puzzle, if you interpret the grreen German whisper line in box 6 as a purple Renban line.
