Buckthorn Identification and Removal

In today’s video I will be giving you an in depth look at how to identify buckthorn as well as some tips for removal. I found information online by doing my own search on how to identify and remove buckthorn but found while there was some good information out there that there wasn’t one source that provided me with what I needed. I am hoping this can be that source for you.

As for removal, for me an electric chainsaw and a spray bottle are the way to go. The biggest suggestion would be to have help. In the video I do some crazy math and tell you that 1+1 = 3, and what I mean by this is that having a second person will save you more than double the time working alone.
When I remove buckthorn I cut the entire plant down and treat the entire stump, I know there are hack and squirt methods likely as an option, but just like I error on the side of making my herbicide mixes strong, so do I error on cutting the whole tree down to leave nothing to chance.
