Feel no shame backing out of a pokie handling! Just not worth the risk imo, no matter how chill it may seem at some point. Never feel pressured to do it for us, we care more about your safety! (: Amazing to see them out in the open in their full glory, though!
DEFINITELY no shame in not handling it. My Golden leg Baboons venom probably isn’t as strong as a pokie, but I’m still not taking any chances. Some of my crazy new worlds are hands off as well, even though their venom isn’t nearly as strong as an old world. I have others that seem to enjoy being handled, so no use in taking any chances.
I was actually relieved when you didn't hold the miranda, I was stressing for you! thank you for showing the rehouse. sidenote: I received my t-shirt in the USA and i'm super excited to have it. thanks!
You have opened my mind in so many ways about tarantulas and spider, thank you for your time to upload and educate us all about these wonderful animals. I appreciate you and your content and the drama free side of the internet!
you take the patch out of the card and put it on jean jacket , canvas bag , ect. They put it in a hard cardboard package to preserve the shape before applying or if you just want to put it on your wall....maybe put a magnet from the dollar store on the back and BOOM, you now have a fridge magnet .
Hi Mestra! Just wondering if you've checked out birdspiders ch.. they have a huge variety on habitat advice on most species, the channel specialises in arachnology.. they do a lot of in the wild documentation, definitely a the must-see for tarantula lovers.
Your miranda was so chilled but I don’t blame you for chickening our on holding her 🤣 awesome video dude! Glad you received the stickers and drawing from minirock! She misses poopachino! I launched a new logo today for my Balfouri Communal Club fb group, will have to get some new stickers out to you lol
Yo Petco i am from South Africa🌎it is currantly about 9pm here.I wish i can go and visit croatia it was always one of my dream vacations just want to say that we all love you man and keep up the good content through corona🤩😁❤
Wow you have some beautifull pokies and they were so calm i could see how you were tempted to hold it but im glad you didnt i dont want to see you get hurt we like the bolts and crazy threat postures but seeing you get bit would ruin my day still great video
Great vid, Petko! And I'm glad you changed your mind about handling that Pokie. But thanks for so many beautiful shots of both. Can't wait until I start collecting OWs. That miranda is high inn my list! Gorgeous species!
These are very beautiful Trantulas. Loved the rehouse video. Thank you for sharing Petko. Funny you chickened out on handling the first trantula but honestly I probably would have chickened out as well especially being a old world trantula LOL. Great video and great footage.
Great video petko I don't blame you for not handling the miranda, I've had pokies bolt onto my hands numerous times and I must admit it dosent get any easier..... Major brown pants time
Hey Petko, I've been watching your channel for ages now. I'm a pretty bad arachnophobe and I have been since I was little, I own scorpions, centipedes and mantids and I now have gotten my self a Tarantula! (Selenotypus Sp2.5) Keep up the awesome content which helps people like me get over their fears of spiders!
Shy, but damn gorgeous... They're like the Ferrari's of the tarantula world, sleek, sporty, colourful... I am always so pleased whenever you find one out in the open, when you scroll by your shelves once in a while.
Hey Petko love your videos btw, one thing i really enjoy about them is how down to earth and honest you are, you never edit your mistakes out (not that you had any in this video) and i think that is very important especially in a hobby like this where accidents can happen it helps to show them so others can try to avoid the same or be prepared for the unexpected, we all have accidents even the experts. Bit of a random question but did the spider you released into your garden ever make a web or did you not see it again?
You should think about getting isopods for your higher humidity enclosures because they eat mold and mixed along with springtails, they would keep them nice and clean !
Petko, the cages you built are gorgeous, really, but are you getting mold problems because there's no cross ventilation on the sides? I would think that venting from the top is no good for mold growing on the bottom. Also what good are the balls if you are getting mold?
sighing because my Aphonopelma is apparently meaner than pokies, she's bitten a roll of paper towels and hung on like an angry dog when I tried to lift it away
@@justmythought7658 nah not his life, just the pokie's (if he reacts by throwing it off his hand), for him yes a trip to the hospital, but not life threatening unless he happens to be allergic. Likely some serious painkillers and muscle relaxers needed.

All Poecilotheria are photophobic, they see unexpected bright light, they run. I love all Pokies, but mirandas are the most gentle. I've never handled a Pokie, but they've handled me! Great video.
you're very smart for not taking the risk to handle the Pokie. It's just not worth the risk.I know someone who was bit by an old world and was paralyzed for 2 days. The dehydration messed up their liver for a bit due to their older age..

they wont kill you or make you unwell unless you are allergic to the venom, most people will have some pain and swelling, like a sting from a wasp
captainnemo then buy your own spiders and let them bite you, tough guy
Totally agree.

My immature brain: "Hahahahahahahahaha!"
You could even see Petko laughing to himself after he said it!
Also me when he later said “ let me try to speed her properly”
Yeah I also thought that.
What are those ball things ?
Major he uses them as a drainage layer for the enclosure
