We used Dave Ramsey’s course in the beginning of our marriage. Budgeting is tough at any stage (imo). It takes determination and for both parties to be on the same page. It also helps to have an end goal in mind (for example, we are saving to build our dream house and we have made a plan to save a certain amount towards that goal each month. Doing so lets us know that it will take us two years to reach the goal we are aiming for).
My husband and I had a rough time financially last year and had to rely on credit cards to survive. I hated doing it but we literally had to. I’ve followed Dave’s snowball method in the past and lately his videos have been popping up and I’ve been so motivated to get this debt paid off. We have been budgeting this last week and will have most of that debt paid off in 1 year !

Sav I totally get the house being bare. It’s funny you brought this up because I also wanted a tree to keep out in place of my Christmas tree and I found one on Wayfair. It will be here in a few days and I’m excited! Yeahyaaaaa! It’s 6 foot , pre lit and seems to be a good replacement for the other part of the year❤

And wish we had in school, they should’ve taught all that instead of a lot of crap they teach that doesn’t even help us in life ha! You’ll learn about compound interest too. Wow. You want to start investing as young as possible. Even just $100 a month in good growth stock mutual funds (Roth IRA is best) from age 25-65, you’ll have over 1 million or 2 million. Can’t remember the exact without looking up. But that’s an easy $100, imagine more!!
