      Depend on the item and prices you get, You don't always want to low ball yourself when the prices is already cheap. If the item is bulky yes accept the price which is near the listed price. I would of had never gotten that item to be sold. Too much at risk for the value, Damaging people car or worst injured someone and you pay the price of insurance or something worst

      I agree with you and depends on what you have and how often you are getting new inventory. For me I am constantly getting new stuff so I like to move it as quick as I can. Also anything with more value that I can ship I place in my auctions.

    Hey Tucker, great video, I've picked up a ton of stuff posted as free when folks are moving. This year so far I've sold an outdoor sink, wheelbarrow, gave a firepit to a friend and sold a patio set. It's fun. I have a little trailer and it gets the job done. I also started a firewood business picking up logs of unwanted wood curbside. That's harder and you need equipment but it can be done if the hustle is in you! Keep living the dream brother!

    This video was very well-done, very instructive, very clearly presented. Now that you’ve done the “How to sell” I hope you’ll do the “What to sell…” because the key talent/experience/expertise you have is: Know your market. I’m not there yet but it’s the most important lesson I have learned from watching your channel.

    I've sold on Marketplace. My problem is sourcing. I live in a gated community that does not allow for garbage at the curb. I also do not have a truck. But I have sold my own stuff and will continue to do so. You're lucky you live in Jersey near the rich peeps. They throw away what they consider "garbage," and you sell to everyday people. Say hi to Sammie and Finn. Great video!

    Hi Tucker. Thank you for your video. I started selling on fb marketplace about 6 months ago. Just for one example I made over $800.00 the last 2 months. I sell multiple things every day. And sometimes none, but always at least one thing. I did learn from this video, to repost things that haven't sold. I have just been taking them off. I have so much stuff to sell. I'll be at this for years. Lol. Just to get rid of stuff in my garage and 3 storage units. I think also I need to sell multiple things together, like you mentioned. Thank you so much for all your videos. God bless you and your family. Peace!

    TIME KILLS DEALS- Old salesman slang that is so true. When you are contacted respond right away, get the sale set up ASAP. If you set it up for a couple days down the road, there's a 50-70% chance you're going to lose that sale. That is the main reason I never hold an item.

    lLove your video!You're totally right, furniture resale is a goldmine. You don’t need a giant truck, just a trailer hitch and a trailer rental (you can use a sedan). Keeps it low-cost and perfect for furniture! Been running my own furniture flipping business since October and seeing your success is awesome! Double cash flow from junk removal is a game-changer - getting paid for pickup and reselling the furniture. Speaking of hustle, I just snagged a couch and flipped it for $500 in the same day! It may sound a little crazy, but the best way I have found to get smells out of things is to spray it with a mix of apple cider vinegar, vodka, and water. At first, it smells fruity, and then even that smell dissipates. I can't remember where I got the idea from, but it works! Also, when I clean wicker baskets, I chuck them in a handsprayer type shower or tub, rinse them really well, and place them in front of a fan to dry... I assume you could do the same with other wicker items.

And anything out of the ordinary I pick up for resale and take to the flea market. I did this with some 100+ year old hand hewn beams and have sold quite a few.
    Yes, I have a truck, but the transmission went out and right now, I'm stuck. Going to be about 2K for fixing the transmission and towing the truck there. I don't have a second vehicle so I'm kinda screwed right now.

      I think the number is $400 and up in a calendar year you have to pay taxes. you are right,you need a thick skin to deal with alot of people on fb marketplace, i am cleaning out inlaws house giving away very clean and good solid furniture for free and people flake out . say they are coming don't show up then they do show and we tell them to bring truck and help and show up alone with a compact toyota ifeel bad just throwing away but it is frustrating .it seems like you have the right personality to handle it . been watching and subscribed for several years love how you guys flow through life it shows you don't have to be rich to be happy although rich and happy would be nice, take care

      People are dipshits a lot of times. But it's easier to deal with them when you don't have a boss and a timecard like you do in retail. At least when you are working for yourself you can tell people to f*ck off if they waste your time. Just knowing you have the ability to do that if you choose makes it easier to deal with people and consequently you have less of an urge to do so.

    Thank you for including the pitfalls, also. I have had a low tolerance for all the messages and deciding who’s going to come, and then they don’t, and then I go back to the messages and pick the next person and then the first person says sorry my child got sick so then I want to give them another chance 😢 Do you think you could address how you go through the messages and keep everyone straight? Or maybe I’m making too big of a deal about being fair(?)

    I don't recommend telling buyers you got an item for free. TMI.

    • @tuckandsammie
      @tuckandsammie  Месяц назад

      Yeah I totally understand this and I think everyone does it differently. I just don't think how an item is acquired determines what its value is though.

      @tuckandsammie I sell donated items all the time, but if I'm selling locally, I don't say a thing about the items' provenance. I don't want to give the buyer any reason to offer less or back out of the sale. To the woman in this video, it didn't seem to matter, which is great. She seemed too enamored with the item. I lean towards less is more, i.e. the less they know about the items' history etc., the smoother the transaction. Regardless, great video!

    It's been a few years since I watched one of your videos, Tucker, around the time you and Sammi J got engaged. I had gotten out of reselling but today YT recommended this one and I'm really enjoying it! I appreciate that you've always been transparent and upfront about how your hustle goes. The hits, the misses, the good and bad. I'm also really glad to see you guys' family is growing! Resubscribed and happy to be back!

      Welcome back and yeah I wouldn't' really consider myself a reseller to be honest I want people to realize that my business is in video content mostly. Maybe this is why I want to share info and help others instead of safeguarding how tosell and make money.

    Hey fellow South Jersey guy, how do you find the house cleanouts?

    • @tuckandsammie
      @tuckandsammie  Месяц назад

      Used to do foreclosure clean outs so people locally know I was in that business and contact me to do them. I have never advertised just word of mouth.

    Great video helping other people! I have sold a few things that I no longer wanted in my house this way and met in a public place. It is easy! Thanks for making this over the past two weeks! I knew a lot of the items you had picked like the chairs! You are such a great example of a well-rounded person! Patient, kind, and a loving father and husband! 🥰

    ❤💟 White Wicker Set is so beautiful. You have experience in selling. I feel the furniture is worth more $$$, IMHO. Money in the hand is worth it. I'd AIR out that furniture. That's all. Good job. Fun video Tucker

    Rent a small ozone generator machine for one day - place the items with smells and the machine in a small area -- run the machine overnight and the smell will be completely gone -- bad odor of water/mold/mildew in car or room? Do the same thing.
