Big Ray Quest: Episode 8 - A Tale of Two Tides

- Fishied two consecutive evening low water tides at Perch Rock in the continued quest for the big ray. Despite conditions being very similar, except the change in tide height, and fishing the same spot with the same tactics and bait, the results were very different. This only confirms what I have always said that every tide is different. How often have you heard...'well you should have been here yesterday'. This is the main reason why I never chase after fish reports and think it far better to try and work out for yourself what are the best tides and times for particular marks.

nice bit of sport on the beach
Enjoyable watch good video
Many thanks for watching 🎣😁
Nicely done again Rich.
Thanks Paul 🎣😁
True story 😁 hit the nail in the head there Richard, someone catches a monster eel and few rays, you go to exactly same spot next day and blank 😁 thats fishing for you. You can never predict the future lol another great video mate, would you say time running out for double figure ray? Having said that you have caught a ray day in the winter. Looking forward to next episode 👍🎣
Thanks Hakan. I think there is a chance until end of December but will get tougher. Whiting competing for fish baits for one. Interestingly though the boats catch their biggest rays from the river through November so they are there but probably sitting out in the deep channels.
Its a strange place sometimes the mersey snangs can appear then disappear on the next tide, I've had this on brunswick and mariners on the Liverpool side ,good luck with the next session rich ,,,
Thanks Chris. I expect the big Mersey tides move alot of debris around the bottom..and why we get these snags appearing and disappearing in some places
Just seen this one, great video again! :)
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it 🎣🙂
Yet another awesome watch dude I'm a new subscriber and novice to sea fishing and would like to have a chat about what's best for the river as I am local myself to the river Mersey (new brighton side) if this is possible via Facebook or down on the beach would be greatly appreciated bud 👍keep up the awesome vlogs🎣
Hi Kris... thanks for watching. I am sure we can sort something out to discuss the Mersey.
Good video again bud
Many thanks Dylan...the quest continues... 🎣😎
@@PerchRockFishing im sure you will smash it
Turning out to be quite a mission to pick out that one good double 🎣 so like fishing for the thornys on the Bristol Channel iv been stuck on 9lb8oz for a few seasons now and iv had well over a hundred Ray's so I feel your pain . Do they get up to mid doubles at perch rock? Be great if you bagged one for you videos. Tight lines on your quest for the biggie 🎣🎣💪
Thanks Nick...my best is 9lb 4oz off the Mersey shore. Feel like I will be having to get through a lot more small ones yet before a double arrives but good fun trying. Tend to get to low doubles...biggest I have heard this year from the mark is 12lb 8oz. I will get one eventually!! Be nice if we had a bit more ray variety as only Thornbacks in the Mersey.
Keep the vids coming 👍👍🎣🎣 makes good viewing.
