Extra info: The "composition" was supposed to be the random sounds you hear from everything except the piano: the A/C, other people shifting in their seats for this uncomfortable piece, traffic outside the performance space, etc. So it is never the same twice. Or so the liner notes say. Dave's commentary could have been the piece today.
so people who booed the level just had no idea what 433 was. in reality it should've been liked for its accuracy. random sound effects in the level would've made it a bit better
I played this piece in my sax quartet in college. We did it at double the tempo, though. Got through it in 2 minutes and 16.5 seconds….! Felt good about that one!
There's an Irish comedian called Vittorio Angelone who performed John Cage's 4'33 for his final recital at music college. Which is some top-level piss-taking 👌
Dave that first levels Triple Bowser, Boom Boom, Lakitu Spiny, Thwomp Boss Battle was probably the most impressive and entertaining win I’ve seen from you yet! Always a Believer in you Dave! GG!
True story: John Cage met my Mom's parents the week before my Mom's wedding in 1965. He was in northern Saskatchewan hunting mushrooms (edible ones that is) and visiting an art camp.
The music isn't the lack of music, but the reaction to the lack of music. Though now I wonder if anyone made a music level based off of John Cage's "Water Walk." Should be in a swamp theme as there is water and you walk..
26:10 I really wanted the long sped-up part to have an homage to Happy Gilmore where it went to normal speed just long enough for Dave to scream "...piece of monkey..." and then go back to fast.
And then he played and was nice about even the bad levels made by children. So then people intentionally made levels like that and he still played them. And then MM2 was inundated with bad #DGR levels and Dave still plays them. And he asks why there’s so many 😂
4:34 I love how I said "get him, buddy!" to Big B, and moments later he got bumped off LUL 24:15 That definitely works better, you should do it every time LUL (not even being ironic here)
Two more things about John Cage I found funny. He got into growing mushrooms, when asked about it his response: "If you look in the dictionary, music and mushrooms are right next to each other" The other thing, he was going to do an interview, his request, the interviewer has 20 questions, one on a piece of paper each, mixed in a bowl and drawn at random and I get the questions beforehand to prepare. In the interview John Cage had a bowl with 20 answers, on a pieace of paper each mixed in a bowl. Random questions getting random answers. All questions were answered, just not in the order they were asked 😅
The last one reminded me of one of the speed run episodes from a couple years ago when it was a speed run then had to kill the 5 or 6 boom booms at the end. Yikes on bikes
it looks like the Thwomps at the end of the stage were landing on Bowser and one-shoting them. using the spiny helmet actually on those Thwomps actually makes defeat those Bowsers harder
i had seen 2 recreations of john cage's 4'33" before (one in video and one live) and I'd found both of them really dumb and stupid, cause... why? it wasn't supposed to be recreated like that imo. however, to bring it to another medium and transform it into a mario maker level is kind of genius.
at the intro: while true, it can also make bad stuff taste good, bad stuff that only seems good because its better than the terrible you had been having before it. could shift the overton window, so to speak, on what is "good" vs "bad".
Why do you keep doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again do something different and maybe you won't die!
Good thing DGR fast forwarded through John Cage's 4'33" or he would have gotten a copyright strike!
Making 4'33" into a music level was clever.
that 4'33 level is pure genius and it deserves genuine appreciation.
Personally, I found the 4'33" level hilarious. Once.

John Cage’s 4’33 was a piece he composed that had someone at a piano for 4 minutes and 33 seconds in total silence
Extra info: The "composition" was supposed to be the random sounds you hear from everything except the piano: the A/C, other people shifting in their seats for this uncomfortable piece, traffic outside the performance space, etc. So it is never the same twice. @@marcbarber1231 Then why is Cage getting royalties when *I'm* the one actually composing the piece?
I played this piece in my sax quartet in college. We did it at double the tempo, though. Got through it in 2 minutes and 16.5 seconds….! Felt good about that one!
@@marcbarber1231 I don’t think everywhere had A/C back then but yeah
John Cage 4:33 is literally 4 minutes and 33 seconds of complete silence. It's supposed to allow you to listen to the sounds around you.
I genuinely was laughing out loud at that Bowser fight in the first level.
It was soooo stupid. 😂
Dave had to fast forward so that he didn’t get a copywrite strike for 4’33”. 😂😂😂
DGR getting like 90 percent of the way through the fight, then saying new plan and dying was incredible
Can you all believe July is pretty much over? Time flies fast.
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
Can you believe there was 3 Roblox events already this year

Once you turn 40, July is only 1 week long.
@@AlexBerg1 well it feels like a week

John Cage 4'33 says: "i just trolled your ass"

5:56 I CRIED LAUGHING WHY WAS THIS SO FUNNY
The music isn't the lack of music, but the reaction to the lack of music.

John Cage’s 4”33 moved me to tears, incredible composition
I remember how innocent and naive young Dave was when this game came out and he asked everyone to make #dgr levels
And then he played and was nice about even the bad levels made by children. So then people intentionally made levels like that and he still played them. And then MM2 was inundated with bad #DGR levels and Dave still plays them. And he asks why there’s so many 😂
The john cage music level was a masterpiece of trolling, it deserves a like
Bro, you got me through Quarantine. Thank you for still being a great youtuber. ❤
That underwater dark autoscroll...made me instinctively want to reference AVGN's reaction to ET 2. People REALLY like torturing poor Dave. *chuckles*
"Not now Chief, I'm in the zone" is a helluva pull.
20:44 DGR has basically become the Mother's Basement of Mario Maker.
4:34 I love how I said "get him, buddy!" to Big B, and moments later he got bumped off LUL
24:15 That definitely works better, you should do it every time LUL (not even being ironic here)
DGR missed the dev door that skips half the level in the dark water level.
The way I started laughing when the 4'33" level started up.

25:16 You'll never be able to unhear this: the sped up version of the ground theme there sounds a LOT like Kirby Super Star - Candy Mountain.
The graphics of this version are a bit confusing.
Awesome upload to RUclips this was fun 😅
I like how the "69th worst level"'s code began with "HOR"
That first level is what my Spanish speaking neighbors would call “basura calliente “
the 4'33 level destroyed me XD
I also have to take out the trash on Wesnesdays
The last one reminded me of one of the speed run episodes from a couple years ago when it was a speed run then had to kill the 5 or 6 boom booms at the end. Yikes on bikes
Nice analogy, Dave. Also it would have been funnier if the first title was "Oeuf"
Dang that tune was a banger, like that one song from pootie tang
Dave saying "random kaizo blocks" while every single brick had 1 above it XD
it looks like the Thwomps at the end of the stage were landing on Bowser and one-shoting them. using the spiny helmet actually on those Thwomps actually makes defeat those Bowsers harder
I always struggle getting the time signature of 4'33 accurately.
I love this series 😂
You get a like because of the cake reference
18:00 Dave, come on, how did you not see that coming in a level like this?
@14:00 it got a copyright strike
dgr 👍👍👍
What's wrong with the first level? It's like a World of Warcraft raid except that you weren't following the proper strat.
26:13 How did he lose his powerups?
How that ended like this? AFAIK, you enjoyed the very few firsts bean burritos... then it gone downhill.
At 23:24 you can See dgrRoss: The Joy of Mario Maker 😂
I made the actual worst level in mm2, you have to trust me on this. But I didn't upload it, you all aren't ready.
the 1st level wasn't that bad IMO but I wasn't the one playing it lol
Anyone else disappointed that during the fast forward sections it doesn't have Dave chipmunking?
I wonder what percent of the 1,000 worst levels are #DGR levels. I'll guess 12%
That first level lowkey looked fun idk why it got boos
22:11this feels like some fnaf lore bs
I’m honestly surprised by how stingy people are with “likes”. Even the best levels only get liked 25-30% of the time.
LOL John Cage. I need to find that level creator and say thank you.
That first level was terrible but I think Dave started to enjoy himself in the end
🙃 what should i say anymore 😶?
i feel your exitment for this ... great ..... lvls
🤷♂
so for that first level, did anyone tell Dave that the Thwomps instakill Bowser?
Of course immediately after making this comment he figures it out.
These are the kinds of levels i made when i started mario maker
Honestly I'd love to see you play some good levels for once
Safety firsty DGR, always wear a helmet. 😊

Nice
I wonder what criteria Dave was taking into consideration when choosing these levels
You'd probably need to ask the list provider, @DSteves
@@mr.l3565 I mean apparently has 1000 levels listed, my question is what did make Dave choose one of these 1000
Also where I can see that list?
Considering how many trash levels DGR has played, if he boos your level, it should not be on the SMM2 server.
So all bad levels have the sun? got it!
Only DGR could make a level with unlimited power ups so hard lol
16:14 "What are you supposed to do here?"
Get gud fast
Where can this 1000 worst level list be found. Wanna see if any of my handiwork made it.
In the description Dave cited @DSteves as the source, so it probably wouldn't hurt to ask the source himself
JV3-83S-FMF if you dare. I guarantee mine will be the #1 worst level. 99.999% unbeatable.
Why DGR is what it is you ask?
Because you are good enough and bad enough.
Is that clear?
loved the video :D
That first level is................
