I love this place. It's my favourite restaurant / bar in Pattaya. Sailor Bar, Flipper Lodge a few yards away, and 100 yards to the beach. Cannot go wrong. Loved the video too. You captured the vibe of the place perfectly.
My favourite bar in Pataya, I visited pre covid and sat at the same seat that you guy's did. Great cocktails at great prices and the best sweet and sour pork I've ever had. Thanks for the memories.
Oh that video was way back. They have extended the restaurant now and have live music and BBQ more often now. Pass it on my cycle channel every Friday and it's always still packed 🙏🙏
Still playing catch-up with this channel. Sailor Bar seems very popular on many vlogs and usually busy. Not difficult to see why. Really cheap cocktails and beers and great value for money. Some decent choices so far Dave for your visits. Nice work.
Superb presentation and as always, excellent picture quality. I have never visited the Sailor Bar but in Soi 8 - and with another entrance in Soi 7 - The Pig and Whistle used to be my favourite restaurant. The food was invariably of a high standard and it was a very pleasant and comfortable eating environment.
I`m a big `foodie` David , so i really enjoy Videos like this. I subbed to your other channel, because i want to know how Pattaya is right now. How ( and if ) it is lifting restrictions and if it is recovering. I`ve followed many vloggers on here very closely for the past 2 Years and some of the News has been very depressing. It`s great to see Pattaya finally getting some normality back again. I can`t speak for everyone , but i think food/restaurant reviews in and around Pattaya should become a good subscriber winner in the coming Months as Pattaya finally starts to open up again. Good Luck with the new Channel.
Big foodie here too, although I'm trying to limit the calories. The first channel was meant to incorporate the food and attractions, just the cycling became too popular, so had the separate them off. The two channels will allow the food side to be more easy to navigate. I'm not big on the Mark Weins style of...wow...fantastic on every meal, but will try and give a feel for the place. Anyway Sailor Bar is a great cheap eats place, but to date my favourite is the wine bistro on Soi new plaza on a Saturday evening. Will give the a la carte a try at some point. 👃👃
@@DavidAndNong Two places I've eaten at in the past that I'd recommend are ' The Chill Inn' on Soi Buakhao and a place called ' Yiam' on the corner of Soi New Plaza and second Road. Neither are particularly flashy but the food there was always top notch.
I will go there to check it out. My first choice is Beer but I am going to set aside a day or two for just cocktails. Because mixing drinks is a bad idea.
Lol, I'm the opposite, shorts and cocktails I can drink all day, but beers go straight to my head, maybe a maximum of two pints. But cocktails in Sailor bar are great value. If you fancy impressive location cocktails, the Hilton Horizon with great views up and down beach road is impressive, and if you go between 5 and 7 it's two for one, so just over 500 for 4 quality cocktails and impressive views. Once things get back to normal I will do a cocktail happy hour tour. That used to be Hilton, Holiday Inn then Mantra (now gone) all two for one, running between 5 and 9...they were great nights 👃👃

Thank you for good review with good place.
One of my favorites in Pattaya. Relaxing atmosphere, tasty and cheap coctails.
For sure, we don't go there nearly enough. Always busy 🙏🙏
We always loved Sailor Bar 🍸. Cocktails so strong and tasty you couldn't remember what you ate in the restaurant after them. 🥳😋
Yes, I was driving, so only one for me
Flipper lodge just next door was the first hotel I stayed at very nice swimming pool on the roof great view
I've never stayed on 7 or 8, I did stay Sabai Lodge, the pish side, on Soi 2 many years ago. Most of its knocked down now 😑😑

Thanks Keef, my Mum was there yesterday, said she had a great time. Food and cocktails for 245 baht. 👃👃

Yes, Sailor Bar is a bit more budget focused. I used to go to the one next to Pig n Whistle, but it went years ago 👃👃

Been to Chill Inn a few times, always decent quality and great value. Never tried the other one👃👃
