    I'm about to upload my SWA journey IAH-DAL, DAL-MDW, MDW-IAH soon--attended the Chicago Auto Show recently, made a quick overnight journey up there because I'm single with no kids and can get away with that! :) Interesting shots at DAL, noticed the former eyebrow windows on that Triple Crown being covered over, that -700 parking at the gate applying slight power and can clearly see the jet wash on the rain soaked tarmac! Nothing to see flight-wise, all clouds! Interesting how your flight was continuing on to LAS--my MDW-IAH flight home also continued onward there! Did you layover at IAH or go elsewhere? Hard to believe SWA only has 3 gates at IAH and they manage to push a lot of flights out! The -700's don't have much leg room, I prefer the -800s bud did experience my first MAX flight DAL-MDW

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 месяцев назад +1

      This was a layover for me at IAH. This was the day United introduced their new A321NEO, so I connected to United and took that inaugural flight to ORD.

    If I was the CEO of Southwest I would have purchased the copyright for the livery on AirCal jets from AA. AirCal jets had such a beautiful paint job, right up there with TWA's last and final.

    Did you hear about the huge order from American Airlines today?....85 Airbus A321 NEO.....85 Boeing 737 MAX 10 including converting a previous order of 30 MAX 8's to 10's.....and 90 Embraer E 175's. I recently read that 43% of American's total daily flights are on regional jets.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 месяцев назад +3

      I did hear about that. The A321's weren't really a surprise to me. Even the 175's weren't totally a surprise, although the number of them is. The 737 Max 10 though. That was a surprise to me.

      So, I'll be honest. I think you see an adversely large number of flights with clapping in the US on my channel primarily because I often take special flights. Inaugural flights, final flights, retirement flights, etc. Flights that have an added meaning or point that actually warrants the clapping haha. This flight here seems to be the exception. This was a random, non-special flight and I have no idea why people started clapping. In over 1,000 flights, I'd say less than 1% of them have ended with clapping in the US. My experience has been that this is far more common in Asia and Europe. Regardless, this is not a common occurrence in the US, it's again, I think an inflated sample set because of the types of flights I generally take.

      @@kymw7833 oh no, definitely not my friend. I just thought it was worth pointing out that I think it’s more common in my videos than usual given the type of flights I generally take. And I did remeber what the deal was with this flight. So the group around me on the plane was a group of teenagers. A swim team of if I remember correctly. And I think they were just being… How to put it nicely… they were being obnoxious 😂. They clapped solely because they were poking fun at the practice and wanted to act like stereotypical teens 😂.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  6 месяцев назад

      A couple other people mentioned this and I couldn’t remember why they were clapping, but I just remembered… it was a group of teenagers, a sports team by the look of them, and I’m pretty sure they did it just poke fun at the practice. You know, the stereotypical behavior for some teens 😂.
