Many people came to search for this song the first weeks of its release and instead stomped on the demo. There is actually a vocal part in the chorus that many people were disappointed was left out of the final version. Lady Gaga even likes it herself so much she has included it in her live versions of it.

Her voice didn't change; her inflections and intonations did. IMO, as much as I love The Fame, it was a bit more formulaic-- it sounded more like typical pop music where her vocals were concerned (IE-- the wispy highs in Paparazzi.) In her later work, she started playing with a darker sound that isn't typical of many singers now, and as we all know, she can belt those highs in Paparazzi. Choosing not to was an artistic choice, reminiscent of many R&B artists, for example.

@SoraOfOhio I really couldn't agree more. When I heard the finalised version I was gutted when I realised they replaced the synthesized male backup part. Plus I love the way in this version she's more easy going on her voice rather than really pushing it in the finalised version.
I agree with @samkidcool I always loved this version. I remember I completely loved Lady Gaga (still do) but I started to get bored, and when I heard this I got so excited for her next album. Feeling that way again, and can't wait to get Born This Way on Monday! :D
