Hi both The original test certificate was probably done in the van , but again your dogged determination found the problems . Also many would say it complies so they would leave it at that . But not you , spot on work as usual from the dynamic duo . Kind regards 👍
My old Kewtech came with a brown probe that had a test switch on it to trigger the Loop Impedance test. Much easier than the three probes in one hand (there’s rarely room for the earth croc) one hand on the ladder and a nose press on the orange button!
Welcome back and thanks for posting a full video!! 🙂 I previously commented why these guys always wore shorts, especially in the winter months, with me not being a big shorts wearer......now I totally get it, whenever I can, its shorts for me.....so much more comfortable and if your wrapped up warm up top having bare legs hardly makes a difference. I'm a convert now!!
Agree it’s crazy. However, based on amendment 2 of BS7671 he is correct. Too many RCD tests were failing as some sparks couldn’t be bothered to understand their MFTs and select the appropriate settings, so IET (unusually!) simplified it. I did an installation in France recently and the new Schneider RCDs would not operate UNLESS I configured my Kewtech MFT correctly for type A or type AC.
well done ! it very hard to price these jobs right because the client very often doesnt see beyond * its working* wheres the issue! countless hours can be spent chasing faults that need rectifying and the customer wont pay for! A clause must be written into every estimate to take account of poor unsafe wiring hidden before you attend a job.
I had a major problem in my new build, particularly in the kitchen, with wires popping out the switches. Wonder if same deal. Maybe when they did it they had it all fine then over time they popped.

Your both back 👍👍.
You can't believe how some people leave things 😯😯
"Show me, show me"..........
I thought you were going to break into song with the kids from Cbeebies. 😅
GREAT VID . NICE TO WATCH
01:30 so they put flip switches in the cupboard where stuff is going to hit them and potentially turn the fridge and freezer off.
What do you mean
They'll be fairly stiff switches.

Did you ever find the high resistance joint?..what was issue.
Nice welcome back 😂
this video should be used in court
Need to test those socks on 500v setting!
Bad news who passed this new build.
The lowest bidder.
How’s the extension coming along?
You failed to mention what and where the high resistance was up stairs. Was it a loose neutral on the multi outlet.

Goodan Chris, was getting worried about you
Looks like Thomas Nagy's been there..
New build electrics are shocking
Absolutely shocking.
Odd socks. meh, I used to order two pairs of air force ones in opposite colours .
New build crap/ dangers
New build = caution. Testing; dubious, doubtful.
