  • At time of this video I've ridden about 290 miles (470km) on my Meteor 350, and I have enjoyed every moment. Just one thing bothered me, on collection the inside of the headlight was foggy. It didn't affect use of lights, but it was enough to make me want to do something about it.
This video is the experience of a non-mechanic who walks through a step by step process of removing and cleaning the interior of the light.
It is a similar process for replacing a bulb, so decided even with my limited skills, I could have a go at tackling this small project.
If you want to see about locating tool kit, see my previous video on adjusting the suspension for the Meteor 350 here: • Adjusting Suspension o...

Good job man! But I must tell you don't need to disassemble all that lamp stuff. The glass and the parabolic mirror are two assembly parts joined together with the visible spring wire. This way you can do a better cleaning and do more carefully with the delicate mirror coating. Also allow you inspect the gasket in order to find the possible cause of dirt incoming and eventually fix it.

      Can you guide more?

@@ravikantverma2867 I'll try. The work carried out by Musician an a Bike shows an excellent result as well as a high probability that the problem will reappear, since the cause was not solved. If the headlight ring is disassembled, which is very simple using the springs that can be seen on the edges, you can check where the dirt enters and fix it with any suitable sealant. In my first comment there is an error when considering that the glass and the reflector came together by means of a replaceable gasket, but these parts are glued, as can be deduced from the spare parts book.

I tried this. But could not get the glass to separate from the plast frame. I suspect it's glued in place.

    Thanks for posting the video.
My Meteor has the same issue, from new, as yours had.
Mine's being exchanged under warranty. 4 weeks wait so far. I was a bit wary of attempting to dismantle the headlight in case I buggered things up and invalidated the warranty. Maybe I'll wait, or maybe I'll give it a whirl, but at least I can see it can be done.
    Cheers.

I hear you on the warranty concern. Reason I was happy to do this is it’s same process for replacing the bulb, which is expected of owners. But if being exchanged I’d leave.

@@betterthanisound Yea, I know. I'm getting itchy fingers now I've watched your video though.
Am still enjoying the Meteor anyway. 🙂👍

Pity you didn’t purchase a 5k, or Philips extreme bulb, prior to doing this. Obviously this part isn’t checked at quality control. Lol

Seriously, why on earth do they send bikes out with all that dirt on the inside of the headlight glass, I mean does it get in over in India before shipping or what! 🤷🏻‍♂️ But well done, very precisely and carefully done 👍🏻

I guess it’s possibly part of the reason prices are kept down, some of the QA processes are bypassed. But to be honest, if this contributes towards my low cost bike, bring it on. 😊
