I met Solti after a San Francisco Symphony concert in 1997. Van Cliburn played the piano in the Tchaikovsky concerto. What a memorable day!

Tony Bruckner is one of least known and the most underrated composers.

To me, that looks like Phil Smith in the trumpet section, and after checking his bio, if I'm correct, that puts this between '75-'78. I'm pretty sure this is in London, but maybe it's the Pictures video that was done there

Not a Solti fan, this listener.
    For Wagner yes very enthusiastically.
And his Bruckner while faceless is more than adequate ! But his slam bam thank you ma'am approach to most of the repertoire excessively emphasizing brass brass brass and more brass especially with the Chicago Symphony disqualifies him from serious consideration in a lot of the repertoire that should be his bread and butter late 19th and early 20th centuries

Eppure, purtroppo penso di aver offeso il signor Postorino Luca.
Per venire al sodo, apprezzare i pregi di un musicista non preclude affatto riconoscere determinati difetti

+1 Looks like he thought that emotional overheating can replace understanding. He always showed absolute misfeeling of Bruckner.
