I bought from my local dealer and it was missing a carburetor and carb bowl when I brought it home. After that I returned it and wanted to inbox the Honda myself. The dealers typically take it out to unbox first than people touch or steal from it in the show room. That is what I think happened here

That sucks! That's one reason we always run them before sending them home. I hope I'd notice someone removing a carb in my showroom 🤣. Glad they took care of you 👍

@@rocketsoutdoorpower6971 lol. It was a Honda HRX217HYA mower. I paid $934.99 with tax for it and told them I wanted a refund. They did return it and told me they would just sell it to someone else. Guess they didn’t wanna fix it. I saw the “o” ring sitting on top of the nexite deck as well. I always get lemons haha.

If you sell the same brand of mowers a customer wants to get repaired you should be willing to fix his mower.

My experiences have been bad with both "big box stores", and my "local dealers". The big box stores don't train their employees at all so you get some girl ghetto rat telling you things she can only read from a brochure, or you buy from your local dealer, he brings you the machine, it's scratched from them moving it, and the damn thing won't even start right there in your driveway. So, the old saying....no matter where you bur your garbage, "Nothing runs like a Deere....or stinks like a John"....is pretty true. Buying new things these days is a definite "crap shoot"....you can't trust any of them once they have your money.

Personally, I would look for another dealer. If you can't find a business you trust, you're looking in the wrong places. If they were all that bad, they wouldn't stay in business.
