    Amazing job!, i agree with other users that there could be play in the block if you dont prevent the lead screw from moving axially. If you buy the standard pillow bearings they come with tiny setscrews and they allow you to fix in place your screw. The alignment will be a bit more challenging but it will make it a solid, flawless design.

    Motor's typically have significant end-play, a mm or two, so without a thrust-bearing that will limit the accuracy/repeatability significantly... For instance there's no need for an anti-backlash nut on the leadscrew if the motor shaft has 1mm endplay (and that coupling can stretch/compress by a similar amount too. If you look at the standard ballscrew kits they come with a preloaded thrust bearing block to define the axial position to tight tolerances.

      if that were true, then every 3D printer with a screwed z axis would have that problem which they dont, and those use extreamly cheap steppers.

    Hello, is there any motor used in this linear actuator to work automatically?
    if so, can u suggest the name of the materials used?
    i just needed this for our invention in our project. thanks in advance!

    • @ikmalxhakim4419
      @ikmalxhakim4419  Месяц назад +2

      I'm not sure what your application is, but any mechanism with any motor can operate automatically, depending on your program on your microcontroller and motor capability. In this video, I just use a standard NEMA17 stepper motor. Let's say you want to use this actuator for an automatic sliding door (For example) and you want the door to open halfway, you can control the motor's rotation or carriage movement by assigning a certain number of steps to the motor driver.

      @@ikmalxhakim4419 hi! thank u for aswering, I really appreciate it!
      and I would like to ask if, is there any chance that the stepper motor nema 17 will work automatically by programming?
      if not, can u suggest other motor that can be used automatically with the use of remote by programming.
      note: in our project we are going to invent a self-cleaning window with the use of timing belt and we are struggling of what materials are needed that is precise and effecient in making our product.
      thank u so much!!

      @jjeninaa My friends and I built a whiteboard-cleaning CNC robot as our third- year project. We used the Makerbase MKS DLC32 for the motherboard, two stepper motors, and a servo motor. The best part is that you dont need tinkering a lot with programming and instead, use the power of G-code commands to control the machine's movement precisely and automatically. For linear motion, we created an actuator from 2020 V-slot aluminum extrusions, a V-slot gantry kit, and a timing belt. Kinda like this:
      bulkman3d.com/product/mini-v-linear-actuator/
      Pen marker and eraser are on the same toolhead, work as dual-switching mechanism, allowing for both 2D plotting and whiteboard cleaning. Yes, you can control the machine and send G-code commands remotely via Wi-Fi, thanks to the ESP32 module.
      I believe this video might be useful for the introduction:
      ruclips.net/video/2lcFyC-5ww4/видео.html
      Nema17 motors should work just fine. However, the choice depends on the load. In most cases, the 17HS4401 stepper motors provide decent holding torque.😁

    The holes that you are drilling at 0:28, are these tap holes strong enough to hold the track? I think the thickness of the extrusion material is only 1.5-2 mm, you need at least 3-4 mm for strength

      @ikmalxhakim4419  Год назад +3

      @@sharanamuram2290 what I can recommend is to use T slot nuts instead of tapping the hole. This surely holds the rail enough and more reliable.😁I made a V2 linear actuator (I posted on my insta) in which stepper mount is 3d printed parts and one single 2020 aluminium extrusion. Since I use MGN12 linear rail, I still can use 5cm length 2040 profile for the block carriage. (NOTE: my design here is only applicable to MGN12 rail (block) due to the hole size & spacing )
