One of the coolest jobs in the world.
I saw Kooza I think 5 times now and GOSH I absolutely love the show. I love these musician POV videos. The music to me is one of the best part of cirque. I could enjoy the show just watching the musicians alone :)
Thanks so much! I had a wonderful 8 years there, and I miss the show, the people, and the music.
I loved seeing you guys a long time ago in Portland. I remember having chills when the tower came rolling forward with all of you inside. The music is so powerful and all the elements together make it really magical. I especially enjoy the way that brass instuments are utilized in Kooza's score. The trumpet and trombone are what stick out most in my brain when I think of Kooza.
I loved that moment in the show too! Thanks for bringing back some beautiful memories for me!!
I've now seen the kooza makeup. 😉
Haha! Good times!
Keep this up! We young musicians sometimes need a little push of inspiration Thank You!
cabuqui91 Thanks! Glad it inspired you, feel free to share!
Thanks a lot for this amazing videos! It's awesome to get a different look of the show!
Thanks for posting these videos, it's amazing all the word behing scenes to get this show done :)
Thanks! It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun! Miriam Alcaraz
First time seeing this Orchestra or whatever it is. It's epic. There isn't even one Theatres Of these acts or Some orchestra too in my country. Never did a real life experience.
Thank you! I miss playing this show.
Google added this to my feed, I'm glad it did - I enjoyed it.
I’m glad too! I was just thinking about Kooza. I still miss it sometimes. It was an amazing 8 years.
I find myself consistently coming back to your Kooza videos because the execution of the band is just flawless! Definitely the show's best band over the years, what symbiosis! Hope you're doing great in your current projects, Jim.
Thank you so much!!
I definitely miss those guys and gals! Those were 8 of the most fun, challenging, and rewarding years of my career so far.
@@JimLutzMusic Lovely to hear that, may I ask cause I don't recall exactly: when exactly did you leave the show? Do you remember your last city with it? Love from Argentina.
I certainly remember!
I was there from the beginning of the show in 2007 until the second time in London, in February 2015.
Gracias por esta increíble clase magistral de música. 👏
Awesome!
Thanks!!
Love from morocco
I really hope Cirque find ways to doing amazing sets for the touring shows that highlights the band a little more. After watching some vídeos of musicians doing their jobs it's a little shame we can't barely see them mostly of the time because there is no clear view from the audience to them. In Kooza, at least the band stays in that high setpiece , so I imagine it's easier to see, but in shows like Amaluna, Totem and Varekai the band isn't as easy to see most of the time :/
We enjoyed seeing the audience every show, too!
AWESOME!!
Thanks!!
Awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks!!

Rock on cirque du Soleil
What did you do at around 1:08? You were signaling something? Its hard to tell from the video.
High fives and fist bumps with the band! One of my favorite moments in the show.
I love it! is Magic ♥ Kisses
:)
Kooza marked a before and after in my life. When i saw this show i had 14 years old. There is no day that i wake up and not think in Kooza or Cirque Du Soleil. Was Amazing the feeling that left in me. A feeling like Hope. I think that i'm "The Innocent". And Kooza is my "Trickster" because it introduced me to in a magic world of dreams...
Thanks!!! ¤♡¤
I'm so glad you enjoyed the show! I had a wonderful 8 years there from 2007-2015 and I still think of the show and the people there often, too!
it's Unforgettable!
+Emii Fornari I agree!
Hey, rly enjoy your work! Is there a way to find the score to this music online somewhere? Thanks
Thank you!! Unfortunately I don't know of any scores available online. Sorry about that.
Jim Lutz just wondering, what was the audition process for joining?
+Codster Derp I found my job at casting.cirquedusoleil.com or you could try their Facebook too. First step is usually a video audition although they do have live auditions sometimes too.
What are the notes for the trombone part, I would love to learn it!
Hey there, sorry but I don’t think I’m allowed to make sheet music for this... but transcribing it might be a good exercise for you... ;)
Jim Lutz thank you sooo much! Kooza is my favorite cirque show!
Ah I’ve figured out the notes for the baseline of the middle section!!! Thanks for your help!!!
Cool!
Jim Lutz thanks!
What horns are you playing on?
Shires .525 is the main axe (can't remember the exact model), the bass is a Yamaha YBL-612.
Nice, they sound great. I'm playing on a Conn 72 copy by B.A.C. I'm incredibly jealous of your tone.
Thank you!! I like my horns.
very nice. wish the video was a bit longer.
To finish "Royaume." (The rest of Chavari.)
Estas en México?
This was in Europe in 2014, if I recall correctly.
