the intro is so heartbreaking, along with the background music. seeing people so happy and waving goodbyes to everyone else while leaving Southampton, little did they know most of the goodbyes were really goodbyes forever.. Titanic had a happy beginning, but a very sad ending. R.I.P. Titanic and 1,500 souls who perished on the night of April 14/15th 1912.

The Titanic was many things; a mechanical marvel, a symbol of hope for man and humanity, an experiment of social and industrial science, and an elloquently crafted piece of kinetic artwork... ...All of which makes her loss even more heartbreaking.
I saw Titanic in theaters last February, when it was re-released in 4K 3D. My soulmate and I had never seen it on the big screen, and let me tell you-hearing this haunting music with surround speakers blew us away. The entire audience clapped as the film began. Watching Titanic on the big screen was an intense, unforgettable night. It was like seeing it for the first time with amplified intensity. The theater was full and although we were all strangers, we all cried together during many scenes. You could hear so much crying and sniffling going around…and it was very surreal. We all applauded during the ending scene, too. Such an unforgettable night
Same except that mine already saw it before but not me. And she didn't expect me to cry, me neither but i don't regret at all. Because it is one of the most beautiful movies i have ever watched in my life and the romance between Rose and Jack makes me loving even more my couple with her. I feel like her and I love each other the same way Rose and Jack did. I was the only one to cry in the theatre but i didn't care, i couldn't bear it anymore because tears came when Rose arrived in New York without Jack
At the beginning of the song, the boom made me feel like the earth was splitting from east to west. And everyone flew up into the air to the last place. It's so beatiful.
Wow. Love this intro. Celine got most of the attention from this movie but Sissel, the voice in this intro, gave the movie it's beautifully haunting feel.

Hearing the music by James Horner at the start of Titanic just makes me emotional all the time. James Horner really knew how to make really emotional music for movies. My favourite movies James composed is Titanic, Balto, Avatar, Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, The Perfect Storm, The Land Before Time, Jumanji and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas. It's so sad that he died in a plane crash in 2015. Rest in peace James.
I remember finally watching this as an adult with the one I love on Valentine’s Day. When he finally proposed to me I picked out my dress, the venue & and I picked this song to walk down the aisle. We got into a really bad argument and he left- and I haven’t heard from him in about 2 months now. I come back to listen to this everyday - I love that person and he’ll forever have my heart.
Though I am a huge fan of the RMS Titanic, it's her elder sister-ship the RMS Olympic that's always close to my heart first. That liner is a true legend ❤️ The other day as I kept looking at my old Olympic postcard collection (which are more than 100 years old), I played this tune.. simply couldn't hold back my tears.
0:59 Those sonar pings, when set against the imagery and vocals, is the most hauntingly beautiful thing in this intro. Especially that descending, fading ping after 1:10 It makes me think about the Voyager 1, still trying to reach back to earth with radio waves.
A beautiful, poignantly nostalgic departure of a doomed Titanic from Southampton, as if we were viewing 1912 sepia-coloured, slow-motion footage. The same scene we see later, in colour, normal motion, with Rose’s recollections. Very well done by James Cameron and +James Horner’s music. Just this one opening scene sums up the entire film in less than a minute. A brilliant piece of movie-making.
man, even the hyper tecnological subs have a sort of visual poetry in this perfectly made opening. Cameron is a real master, and Sissel's vocals make for such a sad atmosphere

In futility, the ship was merely a plot device. It's the story about the protagonist's survival after the sinking. The ship's similarities come from the author's seaman experience and the ship was sort of a warning of the outdated laws he observed.

Once you see that twentieth century fox and paramount pictures credits, with the music, and the grimy footage at 0:14 you know it's gonna be epic.
It would be a lot better if there was no opening credits just the man name TITANIC itself
@@kopetz071 no it wouldnt
@@kopetz071 You must be the only person on this planet who thinks that way about the opening. This opening is perfection. I know people who hate the film but still like to watch the opening because it’s so good.
The music is so powerful so haunting.... it plunges through the heart piercing the centuries......
It gives me the chills, and the exotic dark waves and angelic voice and harp and strings really really got me.
The Titanic was many things; a mechanical marvel, a symbol of hope for man and humanity, an experiment of social and industrial science, and an elloquently crafted piece of kinetic artwork...
...All of which makes her loss even more heartbreaking.
From that perspective: 🚢 did not sink; temporary loss.
@@raptorblack2269 Titanic is definitely one of the best films in cinematic history, no doubt

This intro is one of the rare movie intro that actually hit me that hard
I have used so many hours of my life watching this movie and study titanic and I have loved titanic since I was 4 years old
I remember finally watching this as an adult with the one I love on Valentine’s Day. When he finally proposed to me I picked out my dress, the venue & and I picked this song to walk down the aisle. We got into a really bad argument and he left- and I haven’t heard from him in about 2 months now. I come back to listen to this everyday - I love that person and he’ll forever have my heart.
The tone , the base , the massiveness of a ship . The sadnesses , mysterious, and deep dark ocean in one picture
Just the music itself shows the whole movie and the love in flick of second. The heavenly voice of SISSEL makes it more like heaven.
in your dreams! LOL 🤣🤣🤣
The opening music still sends a chill down my spine, knowing these people had no idea it was going to be their last moments seeing daylight.
Also you know that opening scene was not actual footage of Titanic, right?
Though I am a huge fan of the RMS Titanic, it's her elder sister-ship the RMS Olympic that's always close to my heart first. That liner is a true legend ❤️ The other day as I kept looking at my old Olympic postcard collection (which are more than 100 years old), I played this tune.. simply couldn't hold back my tears.
The Old Reliable
what a great voice of Sissel Kyrkjebø. every time i hear this its brings me back to the movie.
0:59 Those sonar pings, when set against the imagery and vocals, is the most hauntingly beautiful thing in this intro. Especially that descending, fading ping after 1:10
It makes me think about the Voyager 1, still trying to reach back to earth with radio waves.
Love it
Am 27 and it's still hit me so damn good 2022
may there spirits rest in peace
I always get goosebumps when I hear and see this intro... timeless classic.
This intro always get me in tears. Best intro i've ever seen
the strings and bass drop at 0:43 😭 you know the movie is gonna break your heart
man, even the hyper tecnological subs have a sort of visual poetry in this perfectly made opening. Cameron is a real master, and Sissel's vocals make for such a sad atmosphere
Titanic was such a magnificent work of art considering her size. It took three years to build and she only lived for four days.
I don't know if it is intentional or not but the sound of the submersible blending with the musical score here in 0:59 is just mind blowing😍
I’m here on the 10th of April, 2021. 109 years ago, these people went on what would become the most infamous ship in history.. god bless their souls 🙏
I remember watching this movie for the first time. The intro literally hooked me into the movie right away. ❤
And it's happened again. Beautiful tune.
Absolutely brilliant 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻and still is after more than a decade
rip james horner, that is a great peace of music
It just always brings tears whenever I watch this😭😭😭😭😭😭. No matter how old it gets. R.I.P. all who died in that ship😭😭😭😭😭😭.
Se me eriza la piel cuando escucho esta preciosa voz
I was only born in 1997 I was a baby when they did James Cameron's Titanic I am 21 now I am a big fan of Titanic I seen it 13 times now I been to Belfast where Titanic and her sisters were built my room is full of Titanic posters. Artwork. Music box's. Titanic figure. Books. Heart of the ocean necklaces. Titanic is 106th years old now her sister Britannic be 105th years old in November Titanic film makes me sad for the people that died on her I dream about being Rose Dewitt Bukater on Titanic all the time 💙💙💙💙
Hits different after the Titan sub accident
As it was written in 1898
"Futility, or The Wreck of the Titan"
RIP and may their souls rest in peace
In futility, the ship was merely a plot device. It's the story about the protagonist's survival after the sinking.
The ship's similarities come from the author's seaman experience and the ship was sort of a warning of the outdated laws he observed.
This movie is such a masterpiece and it’s one of my favorites including A Night to Remember.
Mano que abertura é essa muito emocionante 😢😢😢😢😢
this intro never fails to send a chill down my spine every time I see it....I love this movie beyond words...and the true 1912 story is always haunting me...
Sissel's voice sounds like an angel
I loved a girl when i was 15 when the titanic movie was released. I swore to God, I will watch the movie once I'll be with her. I fought for her but without success. Today at 41 years old, I'm still single, still not watched it. Still meetings her sometimes with her child in the neighborhood... I will never watch it. It takes what it takes
fake God is not real Creator
@@Edzhjus yes he is
My mom saw this movie when it came out and when she was pregnant with me, and growing up I was fascinated with Titanic. Love this movie

Its like musical heroin, it just sends waves of emotion and goosebumps all at once.
This opening footage is a love letter futures lost and souls forgotten, and beautifully so.
"I wanted people to love the ship as I do"
JC
And the movie makes me cry even harder with all those lives lost
The bass gives me chills throughout all the song, this intro is a masterpiece
