I can't imagine how great Ohtani would be if he were only a pitcher, but I would say the same if Shohei were only a hitter, the man is a legend in the making⚾️

Ohtani is a more impressive player/athlete against much stronger competition and a very different game. That's not to denigrate Ruth, who deserves acclaim. Watch Colin Cowherd's commentary about the comparison of Ruth and Ohtani. It's devastatingly good analysis.
He almost had a grand slam in that Weds game. It was already one of the most dominant pitching performances many observers said they had witnessed, plus a couple of hits and RBI. But that double off the scoreboard wall came close to going out, which would have been a grand slam and would have made the Ohtani line even more impressive.

Perhaps the first time we've seen it, but Ohtani looked angry out there today. Obviously not happy with the start to his year, but what a way to correct that. Great performance.
@@DoubleDash28 Actually Angels' pitching has been good so far this year. Their blownpen was an issue last year but with Loup and Tapera they have been solid. Austin Warren is unexpectedly underperforming and Suarez leaves something to be desired but overall Angels' pitching is not an obviously flaw this year.
Angels had me on the edge of my seat for a different reason. Ohtani was so close to a perfect game with 2 RBI giving Angels 2 of their 6 runs. World Series is definitely possible this year.
This and the shellacking the Guardians gave the White Sox yesterday have been the best things to watch aside from my Mariners. Particularly, seeing Brantley and Tucker getting their just due this season has been FANTASTIC. Keep at it Angels.
I was at this game as I seem to like these 2 teams about the same as the Angels are my team, but I rooted for the Astros because they were playing in Houston but I’m also glad the Angels won!
