Nearly 22 years later and this song still hits me right where it needs to.
In the balls?
Takes me back to the good ol days also
So true!
Yep 🔥
Right on the gooch
still rocking killswitch since high school, I'm 38 !
34 here still kicking haha
Same, 38 as well 👴
For everyone licking the old tracks, a must watch tip (link below): Killswitch played a almost oldschool show when Joel was away during their appearance at THIS IS HARDCORE. Awesome stuff 🤟🏼have fun headbaning

42 here and still listening
Same, 35
As someone that got into this band when Alive or Just Breathing came out, I'm still pinching myself that Jesse is back.
Bro it’s been 10 years
Howard will always be their best vocalist, hands down!
@@cdeeznutz8260 Not my opinion. Prefer Jesse a lot, but Howard is a great singer too, no question
@@dyeguitar I saw light the torch and kse a couple months ago and they both sang together... Something about Howard hits differently. They're both good but Howard has more to it.
@@cdeeznutz8260 exactly..... howard took em to the next level. Gutturals, singing, shouts, etc. Got into em b4 howard but the howard ERA was unstoppable.... now they sound like other bands vocally again
I still can’t believe Jesse is back and it’s been over 10 years now. It’s like one of those things I never thought was gonna happen, and then it did. Plus that second times of grace album… just too good to be true
Damn right :)
All these years later and it still gives me chills hearing the later half of this song. "No matter the consequences, stay true to yourself". I try my best Jesse. Lol Thank you for the inspiration to be a better person in this world and the words to guide me.
Jesse on Vide Infra: "The idea for Vide Infra actually comes from Bob Marley. Bob Marley in general is still a judge influence on me but when I was writing the first record in 'Alive or Just Breathing', I was listening to a ton of Bob Marley, so I drew a lot of inspiration from his lyrics, and he dealt with racism and that’s always been a topic that’s been super sensitive for me because I grew up around a black community being a white person and vice versa. I’ve seen what racism can do, and the idea that we’re all bleeding red, if you cut us, we all bleed the same color. So that whole concept to me is what made me write that song about how we’re judging each other or having these superiority complexes based off the color of flesh or based off the fact of you’re a man or a women or you believe this one particular thing. That song is about leveling it all down and saying that nobody is better than anybody else. We all start at this level playing field and there so much to learn from each other. It’s a message that needs to be said over and over again. People try to say that y’know, racism doesn’t exist, sexism, all of these things exist, their going to continue to exist unfortunately cause it is the byproduct of us as humans and our egos and how we’re raised and how we feel. That song to me is just about pulling all those stereotypes aside and when you come down to it we all bleed red, we’re all the same inside, we come from the same family, the same species. So yeah, that’s pretty much looking deeper than the surface of the idea was who we are, our skin, but going below, underneath it."
Stoke The Fire Ep. 10
god it sounds even better live than on the album
No one is placed higher than another!
No matter race or creed or gender!!
Jesse is an amazing lyricist
That's truth right there brother!
If only the ones above us believed in and conducted themselves with that statement in mind with every decision they make.....
@@anthonyyoung9810 No but they're happy to engineer a culture war
Still one of my absolute favorite KsE songs
One of the best songs on Alive or Just Breathing. Sounds better than ever on this live performance 👏
As i remember, this song was part of Killswitch Engage album (2000). Although it was a part of Alive or Just Breathing too (2002). I agree this performance is outstanding!
@@christianantonioanconaherr9744 correct, the original song was released on their first self-titled record and then they released a rerecorded version on Alive or Just Breathing along with Temple From the Within.
Jesse’s screams on this live album sound more brutal than ever. Hopefully he didn’t hurt himself
Adam backs up now and is no longer the drummer
This song is more fitting now than it was when it first came out.
Its a struggle that's been around longer than most people realize.
This song is about divide and conquer, as is a vast majority of killswitch songs.we live in a world with a cruel ruling class that has marginalized then weaponized the victimized while projecting their actions on the true victims of society, the working class.its been going on forever except now they've become bold in their actions, but now even the blindest among us is starting to see.
@@johndutton5881 This band is most of the reason I see through the worlds bullshit!
it's so sad to see reality nowadays
From 8th grade to 33 and this still holds up
"when the balance is broken", "rise inside", "to the sons of men", "self revolution"
I need to see this band live! I put the headphones on before bed and watched and listened to this whole live set! Kick-ass I fawkin love KSE.!
I am about to turn 50 years old. I was a young 20 something when this album was released and it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. I have seen this band live more than any other band and as recent as this last tour. I am an older dude that is still in love with a good metalcore song/band thanks to these guys and this song/album is why.
I think you're math is a wee bit off.
@@Odd_Combo 49-22=27. That's a young 20 something. Math is correct.
@@TheThirtypack A young 20 something would be under 25, logically speaking. But, sure, why not? Dudes can allegedly have babies now too. That record came out 19 years ago anyways.
@@TheThirtypack 49-19=30 😎😎😎
Seeing this amazing band live is on the bucket list! They literally heal me.
The one thing i hate a about killswitch is the people who make you choose between howard and jesse. I cant and i wont, they both have their place in the band and my heart. I know you must feel the same
The Signal Fire is all the better for having both vocalists
@@danielclark-hughes692 FUCK YEAH
@@danielclark-hughes692 signal fire is an ear-gasium for us metal heads
i feel like people are getting over that lately. Seeing Howard and Jesse both on tour was fucking amazing
@@deathlesszero yeah it sure was
I absolutely love all of the throw back shirts and everything going on in this video, the beads, the raw is jericho shirt, shadows fall, the wigs. I needed this, come back to michigan soon!
Never stop playing this and The Element of One!
Hasn't sounded this good since the OG self-titled, which is still an absolute banger from start to finish
Can't wait for the Live At The Palladium DVD 🤘🖤
Holy shit I remember being a teen and watching the KSE dvd at the palladium over and over and over. Here we are two decades later and it has only gotten better!!
Still remembered the time i bought this album, my first metal album, just for the artwork and not knowing who they were. Didn't like it initially. But as the years went on, this became my top album and eventually, because of this KSE album, i got hooked on metal 🤘🏻🤘🏻
My backyard venue..... Love seeing KSE videos from the Palladium in Worcester...
this song was very good live, it's undeniable, but nothing will beat the recording of the dvd "(set this) world ablaze", that day the guys were on another level, they played like it was the last show of their lives
Long live the kings of metal , Long live Killswitch Engage!!!!!
KILLSWITCH ENGAGE are the greatest band of all time yet!!! 🎤🎸🎸🎸🥁
No one is placed higher than another
No matter race or creed or gender
We must teach forgiveness and compassion for all life
Through understanding of our differences
We will find respect for one another
We are all flesh and blood
2002, what a time.

I always loved the lyrics and the vocal melodies of this song
The world needs to hear these lyrics more than ever.I have had the chorus tattooed on me for years. The words meant alot to me. "No matter the consequences stay true to your self".Thank you to who ever posted this gem of a video.Today was a day I really needed to be reminded of these words...

Amazing! the lyric is so powerful!! hugs from Brazil!!
its 2002. i'm a judge at a battle of the bands weekend at some dive bar in wisconsin. me and this other judge would crank alive or just breathing between every set the whole weekend. we voted for a metal band named dirge. the funk/rap band that won bribed the soundguy with drugs. good times.
The Shaun Glass band Dirge (before being renamed Dirge Within)?

mano essa banda é pica né... eu só não consigo engolir tanto os vocais do Jesse... o vocal do howard dava um punch melhor. não só nas músicas como na banda como um todo
