Obviously I was
8 years ago my daughters dedicated this song to me when I was hospitalized waiting for a liver transplant. I still listen to it today. Got the transplant, daughters where beside me the whole time. Blessed to have them and this song.

I use to sing this song to my husband all the time. I was always by his side no matter what thought all the pain his medical issues I was always there being strong for him. I heard this song on the radio reminded me how I use to sing to him every time I heard it. 10 months ago I was in the hospital fighting for my life after being admitted to the hospital for my liver being severely septic. My family stayed so close to me and everything else that happened since. This song brings all my feelings back and now I can cry happy tears.
A lot of Kid Cancer Hospitals use your songs to make a video of them fighting Cancer like Fight Song and Stand By You I cried on Fight Song about kids fighting for cancer
Hannah Miller in my district, the high school and middle school I go to have this Sparrow thing where we raise money for our Sparrow - a child with cancer - for their treatment, and on the introduction video into the sparrows' lives the past 2 years they used Fight Song and Stand by You

I'm dedicating this song to my boyfriend. He showed me this when we first got together and I never really thought about the meaning behind it. Well yesterday I lost him and now I could never of understood the meaning more than I do now. I should of listened to him more and taken responsibility for things that I do which are wrong. Stop hurting those you love!! Fear can impact you in ways you wouldn't normally, for me it comes out in violence, anger and rudeness towards the people that do the most good for me, you should never let fear and past trauma control who you are as a person, you are you for a reason, the sooner you realise that the fear is taking over then do something DO ANYTHING that you know will help you appropriately and will stop you from doing things that nay hurt others and thus hurt you when you come to that realization.

Number 1, I know English. Number 2 I played a sport at a professional level and was quite good before an injury ended things. Famous? Who the fuck cares. Talent? Degrees, scholarships based solely on academics and a great job? Ya....I'm good thanks...and NONE of it I got because of the way I look.
I first heard this song when my brother was in ICU. He suffered 3rd degree burns on 90% of his body following an explosion and fought for his life for months. I stayed in ICU with him for 6 weeks while he was in a coma and gave him a voice when he didn't have one. Recovering from a burn injury is true hell on Earth. By God's grace and my brother's willpower he made a miraculous recovery and survived the unsurvivable.

I couldn’t listen to this song again until just now. It was too painful, but I told myself I’d listen again in 2024. This song came out when my Gramps was battling cancer and I would sing it to him while he laid in bed, totally unable to hear me. I didn’t care. I would just sing to forget how horrible everything was and how painful it is to lose the person who matters the most to you. Deep inside I hoped he could hear me though. Even though the tears are pouring down, it feels good to sing along to Rachel Platten again :)
