OMG the other show I'm binge watching is Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmares? OMG I half expected him to show up and be like "this fish is so undercooked I can still hear it singing Under the Sea!!"
The understanding aunt was the aunt that was rejected by the church, who judged her as "lesser than" for not having followed its strict rules, and was cast out. She says with such pain that she lost her community, all because of extreme inflexibility with regards to following old rules from 3,000 years ago. No compassion, no mercy was shown to her. She understands and cares because she's gone through the same thing Pray Tell had to go through--rejection for being an "imperfect" human being, with weaknesses and sins.
Nope. You don't get to have it both ways. If she is an imperfect sinner, then she should admit she's wrong for having an affair and producing a child out of wedlock. But instead she insists the rules are outdated, so she takes no responsibility for her wrong at all. If she doesn't want to submit to God's law, then why does she want to belong to a community of people who submit to God's law? Seems rather entitled to want all the benefits without any of the responsibilities.
