What I find so odd about the whole C&C deckle is that people are praying for the restoration of Westwood and revitilizing the C&C franchise, but when some of the best original Westwood guys bunched up together and made Grey Goo (Frank even made music for it!), hardly anyone bought it. We really do have to vote with our wallets guys, if we want the good old RTS genre to get some new life. On that note. Why can't we bloody have a new Battlezone game now that we have the hardware to make it absolutely bonkersly awesome? (Think a new or remastered Battlezone on VR...)
Can tell you that I spoke to Frank himself about this one, and he liked it. Though he did say he thought it was too short. Just tossing that out there.
Well it wouldn't be very good for morale if the militia said. "so uh, they have bigger guns and better training, we're fucked" Or "maybe GDI isn't so bad"
The Mammoth Tank, a C&C icon. Never forget that big beastly thing, every time you used it, you felt like a god, every time you saw it, you ran and hid, slowly building up 5-6 light tanks to attempt to take it on. C&C 3 wasnt bad, I loved kanes wrath because it started with kane having to reuse the tiberium dawn equipment in order to rebuild the Brotherhood of Nod. This alone brought back the old memories of Dawn.
I remember when I was playing Kane's Wrath and heard that, my eyes widened so much cause I liked Act on Instinct way back (and I was a really young kid then) I was pretty happy to hear it again
If you've ever had the chance to read Frank Klepacki's interview on it, it's absolutely amazing the shit they were going to try for TibSun. Weather, terrain mobility almost like advance wars, a lot of different units, a lot of the RA2 features, etc.
this music made me remember cnc dawn n tiberian sun :'( so nostalgic man the good old days of rts...an age enver to be forgotten....that being said cnc3 and its expansion pack are epic additions to the rts universe...
One of my favorite features about 'Act On Istinct' is the guitar riff. This remix really utilizes the heavy guitar and it's done the right way! This is one kick ass version!
This .. exept for the absolutly original version .. is the most and i mean the most !! i follow C&C from the day it was in the shops! this is just the best song
I agree , Kane is clearly a sociopath (he has a constant desire to dominate others and feels nothing over loss of life) but is not a sadist (he doesn't kill people unless his plan requires it). Kane has been shown to interact with his followers in a mostly normal manner. To use a rather nerdy example, in a roleplaying example he probably count as "Lawful Evil" (domineering and deceptive) rather than Neutral Evil (selfish) or Chaotic Evil (utterly psychotic).
@ArmorTalons310 There are Titans in CnC3:KW, Mammoth MkII was replaced by MARV. Plus, in Tiberian Sun Nod had that magic artillery with homing missiles (until firestorm).
@KaosuHaze Not quite. In the Nod campaign, Kane says he built the Scrin ship near the end of C&C 1, using designs from the Tacitus, then he put the Tacitus in the ship for safekeeping. This is one of the C&C lore questions we will never get an answer to. Where did the Tacitus come from.
Kane is allied with the GDI in C&C 4. If you kept up to date on the battlecast it is revealed that Kane and the GDI are uniting to fight the spread of tiberium with the help of a mysterious glowy orb thing.
To be honest C&C 3 was a very good game, it did slightly lack something that the prior games had but in terms of gameplay it was just as much a C&C game as the ones before it. Its every subsequent game that have been clusterfucks of a beloved franchise of epic proportions!
you're right, shaji20. the older CNC tracks sound too, well, HAPPY, to fit CNC3. CNC3 needs ambience and futuristicness, which the tracks in the games provide.
@MainHeretic Hell yes. Don't forget to bring back the kickass Cyborgs and Mechs GDI and Nod had, along with the sweet soundtracks! And who could forget CABAL....
A lot of people said that Westwood made better C&Cs than EA but if you've actually played and really went into C&C3 that's really not true. This game strikes the perfect balance between the tank spam that we all know and love with strategy and variety. Everything up to and including RA2 was just "spam heaviest vehicle until you win", while the later C&Cs gave the game a lot more depth. In fact, I'd rather play C&C4 than "Mammoth spam" TibDawn. P.S. This song ROCKS!!!
@MartyNaklo actually I was talking about C&C 3 Cabal was to return, and more it wasn't just Scrin being introduced but MUCH MORE just go to C&C wiki, and look at cannceled games
I agree, I admit when I first played Kane's Wrath and heard this I had a smile on my face. Do I still like the original more? Yes, but it's nice to have something like this.
Awesomeness! I listen to this track when I feel like venting some rage or when I want to exercise. Good stuff. I dunno what you guys think, but I plan on someday write fan-lyrics to this track. Don't think I would sing it myself however, I am a terrible singer.
Listen up ladies and gentlemen! Bioware is making the next Command and Conquer game! It will be a sequal to Generals, and a teaser was realised at the VGA! It will also be realised in 2013! I don't know about the rest of you guys, but the news has made me really excited here, and I eagerly await to hear more!
Considering the trailer from C&C 4, I'd say LEGION succeeded in stabalizing the Tacitus after consuming all its information. Which would be how Kane could hold it in the trailer.
@KewlCrayon I dont think so, new gameplay on the last series mean they are making more C&C games with that gameplay, yet victory studios just been employed.
Guys, guys...if you want an old-school experience with C&C3, there's a mod called Tiberium Essence. It basically transforms C&C3 into a whole new game with the TibSun feel.
If I had my way, I would semi-reboot the CNC franchise. Make it a direct sequel to Tiberian Sun: Firestorm. Convey the post-apocalyptic theme, and have the planet deteriorating at a rapid pace from Tiberium. It would have GDI on the verge of collapse, NOD having the initial advantage with the return of Kane, and the third faction would be the Forgotten. I'd have Joe Kucan reprise Kane's role, Jonathan Frakes playing the new GDI director, and Stellan Skarsgard playing the Mutant leader.
I love when my army is on the move against the GDI base, Vertigo units in the air, stealth tanks behind the base, Redeemer getting the first strike. All defenses down by Vertigo bombs, stealth tanks taking what defense there is in the back, infantry and light vehicles doing the rest. I love this game...
I must say as my list of awesome C&C games go place them like this C&C Tiberium Dawn Red Alert 2 ( I grew up with the two above, played the first one on PS1 :P) C&C3 Kane S' Wrath I must say it was amazing to the last second of gameplay, i dont know why, it just fucking kicks ass.
@Kuhlfurst finally someone who agrees with me, that its childish to say that EA 'ruined' Command and Conquer I've been telling people to get over it for months.
@Hellsadvocate I forgot to mention, in the gameplay of TS you see all kinds of freaky mutated stuff. Like the world is totally deformed, but in the cutscenes you see just the crystals. I think even Westwood didn't want it so fancy but the old 2D engine made it looks different. I think with the CnC3 engine it would looks a way too spacy and fancy at least for my taste. Get what I mean? In 2D engine good but in 3D engine too spacy. Hard to explain...
As for This - CNC'3s music was decent - but i REALLY like the fact they remixed a OLD track - since the old ones were AWESOME I'm serious, the only other legacy CC track revisited is Hell March. For the record, there's a new CNC game coming out by a different studio(EALA died somehow.....) Perhaps CNC4 did in EA- but for what it's worth, i hope they NEVER FORGET the music of the earlier games- and maybe make more modern remixes, or even USE the old tracks almost. ------------longtime cnc fan
Tiberium wars was pretty fun, but for example I've long unistalled it to make room for something else, but I would never uninstall tiberian sun, that game is just awesome.
Tiberium Wars was very faithful to the franchise, and I had a blast playing it. Kane's Wrath fixed all the problems with TW (it brought back all the Tiberian Sun technology: mechs and hovertech, cyborgs, Firestorm walls [last mission] and an intelligent AI). Tiberian Twilight raped the franchise and was a horrific way to end C&C.
Cool to hear, cannot wait to grab them when I finish my TS playthrough :D anyone still jamming online? I figure if I can still find a game of world in conflict, this can't be too hard, am I right? :P
Gameplay wise I completely agree with you. But I felt TibSun had a better sci-fi atmosphere with all its computery goodness and post-apocalyptic environment.
@Hellsadvocate That is a author mistake. They already said the the condition in Tiberian sun has reached critical level. And in Tiberium Wars it has reached critical level again. You can't reach the critical level twice. Just a mistake, they do them too, they're not Gods. Whatever, in Tiberian sun there were more kinds of Tiberium. Liquid Tiberium, the trees were mutated, the stuff in the seas. In Cnc3 they made it like it's supposed to be just the crystals. But I kinda liked the TS version.
@MainHeretic GDI's corrupt nature would show itself, NOD's treachery would be obvious. Really, the only "good" side would be the Mutants. It would also be the first RTS to have an M-Rating, having more mature themes and intense repercussions, making it as Westwood would've done it.
This isn't terrible, but it's only good to the extent that it reminds me of the original, superior version. For me, the best part of the original is when the high-pitched bell or xylophone synth thing comes in.
@leobracer21 You can actually judge the game by game footage a quiet a lot too. It shows you the art style, some of the gameplay elements and so on... You don't have to try everything and know everything to judge it. You don't have to eat dog poop to say you don't want to eat a dog poop lol
@keridog1 Actually, the walkers were a good idea, but making it look more like Red Alert 3, making tiberium controllable and dividing the units to each walker was a epic fail. I only hope that the rumored reboot will make the C&C series back to what it should be in the first place- a badass RTS.
@Hellsadvocate DUde, seriously - One minute they have hover technology for tanks, disrupter crystals, mechs, and alll kinds of stuff - Then all of a sudden they use like humvees and crap like that (Which if you really think about it are hundred-year-old technologies from the point of the game)
What I find so odd about the whole C&C deckle is that people are praying for the restoration of Westwood and revitilizing the C&C franchise, but when some of the best original Westwood guys bunched up together and made Grey Goo (Frank even made music for it!), hardly anyone bought it. @sneedfeedandseed2410 sorry but im 1 of MANY long time fans who refuses to move on.
@sneedfeedandseed2410 your words aged even more poorly than a child in a red zone.
Grey Goo was far from CnC.. didn't really liked it.
Damn, wasn't even aware of Grey Goo, going to try it. Thanks for the tip!
Can tell you that I spoke to Frank himself about this one, and he liked it. Though he did say he thought it was too short.
Just tossing that out there.

c&c 3 kane´s wrath the best RTS ever made
WARRIORS OF NOD!
HOLD YOUR WEAPONS HIGH!!
THE OPPRESSOR MUST DIE!!!
DOWN WITH GDI!!!!
---millitia, and his never ending rage towards GDI
Well it wouldn't be very good for morale if the militia said.
"so uh, they have bigger guns and better training, we're fucked"
Or
"maybe GDI isn't so bad"
+firehawk894
Shhhhh, you might encourage someone to make a mod that removes the morale of militia.
ಠnಠ 'o' Would that even matter? They'd probably die just as fast anyway
firehawk894 hm true.
go on
I want this music playing while I'm setting up a base outside EA's Headquarters.
This alone brought back the old memories of Dawn.
every cat needs a mammoth tank cosplay cardboard suit
I remember when I was playing Kane's Wrath and heard that, my eyes widened so much cause I liked Act on Instinct way back (and I was a really young kid then) I was pretty happy to hear it again
Redeemer: I LIVE
Alternatively if you're the enemy: The Redeemer has risen (no epic units made yet) "Shiiiiit"
Would've been awesome if when someone shoots down the mothership, they call it a "Glorified Oversized Frisbee".
This is one kick ass version!
i heard this track like after 7 years felt so refreshing to get the old cnc feel back :D
Thank you for the link, I'm checking it out right now.
Good lord it's liquid audio bliss! I require more!
My first RTS too, always have a special place in my heart.(I sound more video game obsessed than I really am there.)
awesome track, always kept staring at the score so i could listen to it :D
This .. exept for the absolutly original version .. is the most and i mean the most !! i follow C&C from the day it was in the shops!
this is just the best song
I remember playing the Rio Insurrection in campaign when I first got Kane's Wrath and hearing this as the first song. Epic!
Plus, in Tiberian Sun Nod had that magic artillery with homing missiles (until firestorm).
why do I feel such nostalgia when listening to this and black dawn? (the main menu theme for tib wars)
Nice song!
This song brings back the good old times.
brings back memories from the first C&C
good times..
"Hey! Watch it!"
Unit Lost x100
Enemy Unit Sighted
Harvester Lost
You have been defeated.
Screw the Brutal AI. Seriously.
Brings back memories.
The orb is the Tacitus, or so it seems. At the end of Kane's Wrath it was assumed to have combined with LEGION right before it self-destructed.
This version is AMAZING!!!
A "battlefield: Command & conquer" should be the best game ever :D
You mean "Renegade 2:Tiberium" that we never got? :(
@MainHeretic Hell yes. Don't forget to bring back the kickass Cyborgs and Mechs GDI and Nod had, along with the sweet soundtracks!
And who could forget CABAL....
A lot of people said that Westwood made better C&Cs than EA but if you've actually played and really went into C&C3 that's really not true. thumps up pll!! nizzze piece muziek!
It also plays at the start of The Rio Insurrection in the Campaign.
Awesomeness!
I listen to this track when I feel like venting some rage or when I want to exercise. Good stuff.
I dunno what you guys think, but I plan on someday write fan-lyrics to this track. Don't think I would sing it myself however, I am a terrible singer.
never played the GDI vs NOD series, but dame i love the act on instinct track. this remix is sweet!!
20 Anihliator Tripods, Mammoth Tanks and Avatar Warmechs fighting + this music: EPIC.
It's from the original Command and Conquer (Tiberium Dawn) back in August 1995.
The Only Game i Pre Ordered was Kanes Wrath, and i think it was worth it. I'm always driving my friends nuts asking for a game of Wrath! :P
I can still see all of Rio burning in the flames of rebellion when I hear this...
i effing love this. as far as recent games go KANE'S WRATH is the best of them.
yes i prefer the older ones though.
I dont know what it is about command and conquer music but it actully helps me study a lot easier. and then play the game after ;p
to JederCoulious
find the video which has this as the credits and in the description theres a link :)
It's far from the only mod out there, too. Look around and you'll see a gargantuan number of them for the classic games.
tiberian sun was one of my favorite child hood games, but the game require you to KNOW what the enemy is gonna do or you just have the wrong defences
that and there's no limit to the amount of units you can have, so long as you have the money, you can build them
Considering the trailer from C&C 4, I'd say LEGION succeeded in stabalizing the Tacitus after consuming all its information. Which would be how Kane could hold it in the trailer.
the first time i hear this song
i was like "OH YEAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH LET ROCK AND ROLL BABY" :D
yet another version of "Flurry"? great :D
@ameeba90
Aliens were Westwood's idea. There was a Scrin ship in TibSun, it's where Kane recovered the Tactitus from.

I actually liked C&C3, they did a very good job with it, and I REALLY didn't see that until C&C4 came out...
I must say as my list of awesome C&C games go place them like this
C&C Tiberium Dawn
Red Alert 2
( I grew up with the two above, played the first one on PS1 :P)
C&C3 Kane S' Wrath
I must say it was amazing to the last second of gameplay, i dont know why, it just fucking kicks ass.
Well, it seems that things have calmed down since I was last here.
@Kuhlfurst finally someone who agrees with me, that its childish to say that EA 'ruined' Command and Conquer

Tiberium wars was pretty fun, but for example I've long unistalled it to make room for something else, but I would never uninstall tiberian sun, that game is just awesome.
After reading about the Milgram experiment as well as The Lucifer Effect by Phillip Zimbardo, I am not quite sure about that assertion..
I think C&C is so damn cool... Especially the first one. They should make a movie of Tiberian Dawn
All hail the scrin overlord! He shall show the path. He shall give us the ichor we need!
@Blasti1987 yea, wheres the scrin total invasion? we are all waiting for them! XD

ONE VISION ONE PURPOSE,
BROTHER.
Original C&C3 was called Tiberium Incursion. Tiberium Twilight was still going to be C&C4.
@MainHeretic Tiberian Sun was the most stunning CNC ever!
@Simbirsk2130 umm the disrupter is just a mammoth tank of the shattererer, still lucky for the Hover MLRS, it became the sandstorm.
this one has a little more bass to it then the orignal but it is still perfect for running people down to
@leobracer21 bioware's got some hugh shoes to fill. you think it might be scaled down in size? kinda like halo wars? i hope they don't
@MainHeretic
GDI's corrupt nature would show itself, NOD's treachery would be obvious. Really, the only "good" side would be the Mutants. It would also be the first RTS to have an M-Rating, having more mature themes and intense repercussions, making it as Westwood would've done it.
One Vision! One Purpose!
The Technology of Peace!
Peace Through Power!
@keridog1
Actually, the walkers were a good idea, but making it look more like Red Alert 3, making tiberium controllable and dividing the units to each walker was a epic fail. I only hope that the rumored reboot will make the C&C series back to what it should be in the first place- a badass RTS.
@Damocles178 this must be the guitar remix of act on instinct.
@DoomKnightTGS they stopped the tiberium universe so will it be Red alert 4? or generals 2? or something new
@Hellsadvocate DUde, seriously - One minute they have hover technology for tanks, disrupter crystals, mechs, and alll kinds of stuff - Then all of a sudden they use like humvees and crap like that (Which if you really think about it are hundred-year-old technologies from the point of the game)
Damn.... 4 years already???
An awesome remake
"Shadow is ready!"
KADABUM destroying the base
I'd like to second you on the Pharotek remix, would be awesome.
this remix is great. This game is great.
this is just as good as the original 10/10
I just love 2:36 to also 3:10 so many memories came back to me in that short space of time
