Mud, watching your videos inspired me so I went back and bought that brown enamel iron stove. Fortunately, the antique mall was so glad for the sale, they "loaned" me a couple of porters to help with the move. Of course I tipped them generously. I inspected everything as well as I could before buying, and I was surprised how intact all the inner parts/pieces were. For the age (1900's) it's in great condition. I'm pleased with it, and excited about getting it cleaned up and back in working order. Enjoying your videos very much. 👍
Fantastic! 👍🏼 We must have been related in a past life. Im always turning things into other things. This was absolutely brilliant. Bravo👋👋. By the way, love love the fry pan wall. 😁👍🏼
@@TheMudbrooker I love the way that wall looks as you have it right now. Its very eye catching. Of course, I love the pans anyway. Very nice. You'll have to hive us a pan tour sometime.
I'm enjoying this series. Ps. I think the welding thought for the crack in my stove will work. It's low in the back. I tried to get a photo, but it's c-o-l-d here by the Big Lake.
Mud. Mike O’Connell here on Washington island wis. Great videos .I too am re hab a wood cook stove.on the back of this stove is a plate with 4 ports1” dia. With movable shutters. Located on back end of fire box. Ever see one these.. . Stove brand is Savage. Pour one for me Mike.
I just had a idea. You can bake on top of stove. Get a pan that fits in a pot like a dutch over and a cake pan. Then put canning rings on bottom of the pot then cake pan on top of rings with a lid on top of pot. That's one of the old way to bake.
Is there a connection between the subject of cast-iron pans, cookwares, and a video you made 11 years ago "The Mudbrooker's modest proposal" as a solution to all the stupid people in our world?
It can be repaired, the question is whether it's worth it. Welding shops charge $80-125 per hour for shop time depending on the area. It shouldn't take long but they'll charge either 1/2 or one hour for the job. If you can weld it yourself, it isn't very expensive but a repaired pan has little resale value. So unless it's a family heirloom and the sentimental value makes it worth the cost, you're better off trying to get a refund and starting over.
I love your skillets , hanging on your wall ,

It won't take long to cover that wall, I've got a bunch on another wall and more to hang.

She’s really going to be beautiful when you finish restoring her!
It’s wonderful to see someone care about these old treasures like you do. 😊
It's coming along nicely, if all goes to plan I should have it running next week.
I love your cast iron pan collection - I'm working on one of my own. You are my inspiration.
You're making me all blushy. :)
Awesome video. Great use of the tool box for an ash box. Looking forward to seeing it lit off.
Hopefully next week.
How cool is all that? I'm diggin on the color of the stove as well. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for the time and effort.
Very nice prefab.
It saved a lot of time.
This channel is gold. Love it! Keep em coming. Can't wait to the maiden voyage (after proper ventilation is installed!).
I could try firing it up now, but it would get a tad smoky.
Excellent
Clever ideas! They just don't make them like they used too!
I've always been good at making do. :)
LOOKING GREAT.
Fantastic job!
Thank you.

Just guessing, but it might be for a water jacket to heat water.
Best damn content on the tube... Thank you
You're welcome.
I used a glazing for still tiles in high school aret class
I did too, we used powdered enamel on copper.
She's a beauty. I hope the first bake is a apple pie in a cast iron skillet. Mmmmmm
I wasn't that good at baking in this oven to begin with, so I'll start relearning with something more forgiving.

I don't really have time to give you a full answer, I'm having an old friend for dinner...
I ordered a round skillet, unfortunately when I unpacked it, It was cracked from the middle to the edge.
Is there any way to salvage it ?????
