Just recently subscribed to your channel guys, loving your content so far, great tips and tricks for sure. Do you use clip on towing mirrors on your 4WD and if you do what brand are they? Cheers, happy camping. ⛺️

Hi Ross, yes clip on, Milenco Aero 4 - the best towing mirrors we’ve had. We purchased from Anaconda, and sometimes they have them on sale. Full price is about $140-$150. Thanks so much for your feedback, that’s great that you are enjoying our videos. Cheers, Lea and Joe 😃

How do you cope with the bench’s being so low down?
My back would be killing me trying to stand there and wash the dishes 😳😖

Great question! Occasionally I do wish the benchtops were a little higher, but generally don't have a problem. The fantastic aspects of travelling with a Jayco camper trailer certainly make up for this little inconvenience. Neither of us is overly tall, so that helps too. Our style of cooking (often one pan) means that we mostly don't have a lot of dishes, and there are just the two of us. Any cast iron - camp ovens and frypan - that we use, Joe washes outside as he likes to heat these on the Coleman gas stove. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Lea and Joe

How do you stay under the GVM..My Hawk Outback has 170kg payload..Water tank , battery and full gas bottle =120kgs......Leaves 50kg ?

Hi Shane, thanks for commenting. Ours is a 2007 Hawk Outback. On the compliance plate it shows a Tare of 1080kg and an ATM of 1380kg so from my understanding the van has a load capacity of 300kg water 80kg + 20k for gas and another 35kg for an AGM battery so around 165 kg for inclusions should leave 165 kg for load. Lea and I were only discussing this week about taking the camper to a weigh bridge and get it checked. Thanks for watching and best wishes, Joe and Lea.

Similar to mine...My Hawk is Tare 1029kg GVM 1198kg ATM 1350kg....GVM should be on rego papers..You have to include the ball weight in the ATM which is usually around 125 kgs empty....I will be packing lite :) ...Be interesting , look forward to seeing your results on weighbridge.@@RoaminWithTheRubes

Hi Shane, it will be interesting to see how it goes over the weigh bridge. We'll do a video on it. From what I've read the load capacity is ATM minus Tare. The ball weight is added to your towing vehicle and affects it's GVM not the vans. The van loses the ball weight when it's hitched, that's the GTM (Gross Towing Mass) Packing light is always a good thing though. Regards Joe and Lea.

Yes i am aware...I dont think you have 300kg payload tho ? GTM minus Tare = ? Rechecked my Hawk GTM - Tare = 199kg allowable loading ...It is confusing..@@RoaminWithTheRubes

Hi Shane, I'm certainly no authority on this. Have a look at this page and see what you think. www.transport.nsw.gov.au/roadsafety/road-users/drivers/caravans#Weighing_your_caravan_ Regards Joe.
