To me it feels like Solomon is talking about a shepherd and, a country girl whom he couldn't get to fall in love with him. However, I think the rest of the explanation was brilliant, even if we change the male lover in the book the essence remains the same. Thank you and God bless!

the purpose of the book is to talk about our relationship with God, and Jesus is BOTH king AND shepherd.
