I use it sprayed out and then with contact wash. To remove bugs, traffic film etc i use an alcaline pre wash and i guess that’s the point of the pre wash. Not expecting the schampoo to remove all that and especially not without contact wash.
Yes, Alkaline is for sure more effective, according to makers instructions it says that it should remove traffic film etc… that was why I tried it like this. I have never tested a pre wash which removes traffic film without contact either..

I use this soap too, but with contakt wash with a glove, first i prewash with chemical guy `s citrus
