I think all these fresh ass mixes people are making lately should become it's own genre, I'd call it progressive rap, because when you have lyrics in the song and just change the beat and it completely changes the feeling of the lyrics, I feel like it goes beyond lo-fi hip-hop.

yea it is much better, every video on godsconnnect is mash of great rap lyrics and amazing instrumental, many of old instumentals didnt match the rap it was just how beats were made back then, this is muuuch better
It is freaking insane how changing the beat that come with the lyrics changes the vibe so much. For me personally, the beat has quite a lot more influence on depending the mood of a track compared to the lyrics. This beat just trashes the original away. Not that I even know how the original sounds like
