Spark is from the Purpose album. Which is a GOD TIER album. If you react to it, you should do the repackaged as it has three other tracks in it. Including Dear Me which is the title track of the repackaged and another great empowering song.
I second this! The whole album is so good. LOL, Better Babe, and Drawing Our Moments (from repack) are my faves.
In terms of lyric writing, Taeyeon's less involved. She's spoken about being worried people will draw incorrect assumptions from them, but she has also said that she's very involved in the song choices and vocal direction in all of her releases.
In all of the songs she's released she only has credit for co-writing the lyrics in "I", composing and writing "pray" an unreleased song (though she's performed it at birthday concerts), and "To the Moon" where she contributed in composing and writing the lyrics. It should be noted that she still felt the need to make it clear that this was about her dog XD
A lot of people are saying this too, but watching "Stress", "Better Babe" and "Baram x3" live shows you a very different side that you haven't seen yet. There are so many hidden gems in her albums that Taeyeon just thrives with live and in concert. There's just something about those songs and the way she performs them that makes them so incredible~
Really well said. Also, she has a lot of respect for composers and writers she works with. I think she acknowledges their talents and it's an honor for her to work with them. She takes it very seriously to sing their songs well and to do a good job. I think that's very respectable and genuine of her. She is thoroughly involved with the process of the making of an album. For example, picking the songs, choosing lyrics she can relate to, vocal directing (Circus and Here I Am). I'm super happy to know she was involved with the making of To The Moon and hopefully we can hear more works from her in the future. But if we don't, I think it's understandable. She was so vulnerable when she performed Pray in front her fans, in a safe environment around people who love her. Imagine if she were to release it officially!

I’m here for Taeyeon Tuesday! Taeyeon’s Four Season’s has a live performance from the official SMTOWN channel. 💜 Hearing it on live band makes it even better~ I like the melancholy feeling Four Seasons give. It doesn’t make me bawl like Fine but like a calm sadness? 😂 Also the visuals in the music video is amazing 💜 Glad you liked Spark! It’s been so long since Taeyeon danced in her music video 🥺 I also enjoyed her runs in this song. The lyrics in Spark is really nice. Taeyeon has been more active with lyrics in her songs. In the past she didn’t want to write songs and only gave her feedback during recording for specific parts of the lyrics that she felt could be changed to make it easier to sing (like ending a line with a vowel or consonant). She didn’t like how people would assume that her lyrics will be written about this and that or assume that it’s from personal experience, etc. Taeyeon really grew as an artist and person throughout the years and it really shows in her music. 💜 Thank you for reacting and appreciating her music or children (as she refers to them). Spark really gives me Adele "Rolling in the Deep" vibes.
And Four Seasons blew up in Korea (international fans tended to like Blue more for some reason, but I'm a part of the minority that loves both) and actually won many music show awards as well as the Grand Prize at the Seoul Music Awards, which was Taeyeon's first solo Daesang (huge accomplishment).
Taeyeon's full length album Purpose (Spark is the title track) is probably my favorite album from her, it's definitely a no skip album and is just so powerful. If you do decide to react to it I promise you, you'll fall in love with either the song itself, the message behind the lyrics, her powerful vocals, or all three. My favorite b-side tracks are Better Babe, Here I Am, and Find Me but the entire album (and the repackage) is a masterpiece. Gravity, Here I Am, Do You Love Me, and Love You Like Crazy have live versions from Taeyeon's 'S concert. That was the first time I heard the songs since she hadn't released Purpose at that time, and when I tell you I was SHOOOK...

She wasn't credited for any except for co-writing I, until this year she dropped to the moon. But from her many interviews i believe she has the freedom to pick songs, and not to mention she got a lot of love calls from lyricists, composers, producers and there's a lot of them too writing the song with taeyeon in mind.
Till today taeyeon's fans often discuss about which one is the best full album, my voice or purpose. waiting for which side you will pick in the future 😂

Both “Four Seasons” and “Spark” are from her 2nd full album “Purpose” / “Purpose Repackage” (“Four Seasons” and another popular track “Blue” are on the physical ver only as they were released as a single earlier). The whole thing has a darker and more mature vibe to it and is a really great listen. But her 1st full album “My Voice” / “My Voice Deluxe” (also has a CD only track btw) had some darker and empowering tracks as well, and is also highly regarded. She has great bsides and tends to prefer them over title tracks herself.
FINALLY!! lol Four Seasons is my fave Taeyeon song and one of my favorite k-pop songs EVER. I've been waiting for this one!!! Also I don't know why the captions are weird. I remember the captions being different, "Did I ever really love you?" is what I remember.
