William Floyd Middle School Team-Building: Boat Carry

Seventh-grade English students at William Floyd Middle School recently completed a unit of study in which they analyzed non-fiction texts that share a thematic focus on the importance and impact of effective teamwork. Students built towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows, and for a culminating activity, participated in an outdoor “U.S. Navy SEAL Training” boat carry, which had students working in groups to complete an obstacle course that incorporated tasks based on those used in Navy SEAL training.
