I found this LP in Japan, and as far as I know, this is the only copy in existence. The awful sound quality is because it was recorded in the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the microphones couldn't take the loudness of the pipe organ. Also this piece is an encore, so in the beginning, people are clapping.
A great work by a great Bach interpreter in a famous cathedral. But someone chose a Richter photo that resemble a publicity photo for a horror movie star from the Universal studios.
