I haven't been playing this game for a long long time, but a few days ago when I finally started playing snow shoveling simulator, everything just seems a bit off. I somehow remembered the graphics looking "better" when I was selling snow to Frosty, like the snow strips coming out of your backpack towards Frosty to fill the snow. Now the animation of the snow strips coming out of your backpack to Frosty is not here as of 5th January 2023, it feels empty but I just thought it was me remembering wrong. I also remembered having much much more features. There were much more tools I think, there was something like a thermal suit (?) and more backpacks probably (that didn't cost robux). I vividly remembered having an ice mountain too, and selling stuff to collect ice somewhere, there was just so many things but it seems in the new update that the developers have removed it. Before I knew all this information inside the video, I was literally searching the whole entire map, trying to find where the ice mountain was.
By the way, when I started playing this game again a few days ago I was still kinda beginner. My total snow was only around 5k and my biggest tool was thermal heater or something like that. After playing it a bit more now I currently have thermal core, a plow ($85k, third vehicle), and the most expensive backpack that's in the game (not the costing robux one). I have most of my tools already maxed out, the only aim in the game now is to get more expensive vehicles until UFO, but that's pretty much it. The game itself suddenly feels a bit boring sometimes. I never got to experience having more advanced stuff that was originally in the game like having a thermal suit, going to the ice mountain or owning a snowmobile, fighting bosses, or having any cool flying vehicles.
Now if you really read this far in my long comment I just have so many questions like many other people in the comments. I'm very very confused as to what the developers in this game were thinking, are currently thinking.
Why would they want to do this? Why would any game developer want to remove their amazing game features that plays a bit part to the game, that keeps their players playing? No one requested it the removal! It doesn't violate anything and would have been completely fine if they didn't remove it. So...why?! After reading some other comments in this comment section, it seems that they are, fortunately, adding some stuff back like the UFO, but I still wish they would continue recovering and adding features back into the game. Will they ever add ice mountain, and ice tools? What about bosses? The Frosty snow animation? More pets? I believe there must have been more pets originally too. Let's just hope that, in a short amount of time the Snow Shoveling Simulator game developers will add back all these stuff back. I'm curious to see and experience the features. If you really read through all of this then I must say, thank you. And if you just scrolled through all of that to the end, thank you too lol.
I read it all just like all my comments, but to answer some of the questions as to why.
The one and only developer of the project, sss, decided to rewrite his code to make it easier to add new stuff, this means he has to move all the old stuff over to the new code... which is harder than it sounds. At the moment hes been on break due to holidays, but hes currently working on the ice mountain and the old holiday items (Halloween stuff)
Why didn't he wait till he had all the old stuff in the game? is a whole other question which I cant answer atm

@@_spacemadness Wow thank you so much, because honestly I was very curious and confused as to why this update was so... damaging? I can't find the right word, but yes, something I forgot to mention in my comment is that coding and re-writing codes are very hard along with being super time-consuming. Though I am not a specific game coder myself, I have watched some other people code on scratch and still, on the most basic stuff it requires a lot of effort. So even though the developer may have caused some disruption here, it is for the best, for the later good updates in the game. We must thank the developers for making this game and investing so much energy into it.
I hope the developer can have a good rest after all this since it must be so tiring, also very excited as to what other things are in store for us in the future updates! Also again, thank you very much for clearing up my confusion, I feel like I suddenly understand everything now 😌

I also looked for Ice Mountain after I had found Snow Shoveling Simulator since I had not played too much Roblox until recently and I had forgotten about Snow Shoveling Simulator until I saw it and choose play it again and but notice Ice Mountain area is no longer there and I was wondering what was going on and after playing bit of Snow Shoveling Simulator I choose to look it up the reason and I am glade it is being worked and I say the owner of the game can take his/her time since coding is hard and understand it may take long time to finish Ice Mountain again and same with holiday stuff and only thing I lost I think was the ice stuff because I bought the big truck that can't really turn well and idk if I had that truck or not since been really long time since I played idk how long several years and right now I kind of miss Ice Mountain but I can wait until he/she is finished with it and I was also thinking reason why it was taken out at first was because the code might get the mountain area buggy but guess not and I read all your comment and idk how say it. :) XD

I was a bit disappointed Ice Mountain and bosses went, though never had this as started not long ago. Can't wait for it's return. Good to see a more resent video explaining the changes etc.

I’m honestly pretty sad about the update, this was was soooooo nostalgic for me, I remember when I spent robux to get the abominable snow mobile and grinding for hours to the get the ski thing to go to the mountains, I miss being able to sell the ice cubes and spawning the boss and I miss the ice cave as well. I also remember spending hours to buy everything in the Halloween update

I remember being bad at this game long time ago. Around 2 years ago I visited the game again and started playing out of boredom and started actually grinding. I was playing during the halloween event even though its wasn't October but i managed to get the Coffin Car, Staff of The Dead and the Jack-o-Bomb. After I discovered the ice mountains, I grinded there too. I remember listening to music while going up and down from the ice mountains getting ice blocks and bringing it over to that one npc that spawns the ice boss. I haven't played the game until today. Completely disappointed and just sad that there's no ice mountain, no Jack-o-Bomb, Coffin Car isn't as good anymore, and lots of things just suck now. It's not snow shoveling simulator anymore
jack o bomb is still in the game, but yea I feel that. game is very different and dull rn.

Still thinking the update is good?
When making a game, the _last_ thing you want to do is to remove large portions of the game and this should be done as a last resort. Very rarely do games turn out for the better after eliminating large swaths of content. Now I understand the need to fix the game by rewriting it, but does it really make sense to do that whole process if you aren't prepared to follow it up with the content removed previously in a reasonable amount of time? Why could this have not been held off, as it made the game immeasurably worse. Why not have the pre-revamp version available while designing the newer version?
On top of all that, not only was the ui completely changed, but the entire map did as well, and it's definitely not for the better. Not to be overly critical, because I am aware this took a long time to make, but it's something you'd find out of a generic cash grab simulator, not a well made unique simulator like bee swarm sim. The atmosphere of blinding heavy snowfall such as in a blizzard or the feeling of actually plowing the entire road clear of snow is gone as well.
When looking in the discord, the latest messages I can find from the dev (at least in suggestions) are from 2022 and the latest peak was in January with the new ice mountain available in a separate game. Looking back at this update almost 2 entire years after it happened, it's safe to say this update wasn't for the better.

the owner of the game has taken it out to make it look better and I know he working on the new code for ice Mountain which will be added in future.

i used to play that game in 2018 to 2023 and lot of things happend. and when that update just got randomly released i just joined and looked around for a second and saw that just like almost entire map was changed lots of things deleted and that was suck like that big mountain with ice, that was in my opinion the best place for me and more things. now snow shoveling simulator got a lot of worse... i'm not gonna like that update

What really stinks is I had the plow that instantly sold items and now I just can't use it anymore because it's 350 robux and even worse is i dont know how to get to the mountains.

@@xAngelMX Np I played it during the year it came out I think idk all I remember it was before Ice Mountain first came out and when I found it again tried look for Ice Mountain and was wondering what happened to it and looked up video and choose watch this video and now I know what is going on in the game. :) Np, lo jugué durante el año en que salió, creo que no sé, todo lo que recuerdo fue antes de que saliera Ice Mountain por primera vez y cuando lo encontré de nuevo, intenté buscar Ice Mountain y me preguntaba qué pasó con él, busqué el video y elegí ver esto. video y ahora sé lo que está pasando en el juego. :)

the boss is in the Ice Mountain and Ice Mountain was taken out temporally sorry idk how spell and it will come back in future since first area is just snow collecting and no boss fights.

I'm not a dev, just a community member. And yes they are still working on the game, their update schedule is kind of all over the place tho, which is why you're probably confused. Currently they've been rebuilding the ice mountain, no idea when it will return in terms of date sadly, kind of just gotta hope for the best.

It‘s alot more childish i am playing this game since 2018 but i am disappointed. It‘s like a game everybody is doing now the art style. Before it had an unique touch to it and the graphics and music. now it‘s just for little kids designed

i think that the old dev sold this game to a greedy company/studio, take a look at the microtransactions added to the game with this update: for example, before the upd, every car color was free and now they ask you for a gamepass, lmao
Extra car colors have always been a paid option. And the same developer still owns the game.
