My pops grew up in Greenwich- both grandparents buried in Greenwich. He was fortunate enough to attend the Brunswick school. He had a great childhood and upbringing in one of the nicest towns in America.
I'm glad you went to Greenwich because you can really find a lot of luxurious places to eat for little money. Plus it's a stunning city that will treat the visitor good!
I'm really glad I went. It was a place that I've wanted to visit for awhile. There's still a lot to Greenwich that I didn't get to see or eat. I hope to return!
I grew up in Greenwich. Graduated from Greenwich High School. I haven't been for 15 years. I miss it. I used to take the train from NYC to Greenwich and back. We used to camp on the island you mentioned that you need to take a ferry. These were my childhood memories. Thank you for bringing them back!
Awwww this brought back so many memories. I loved growing up here. I had my first volunteer job at the Bruce Museum. I love l'escale but you missed Garden Catering. Its a local multi generational favorite with the best fried food you'll ever eat. Also you didnt get to go toTodds Point. Although you need to be a resident to go to Todds. Next time you visit us you need to go to both if you can get a guest pass or go with someone :))
There's only so much I could do in a day, and it was a day well spent. You grew up in a nice place! I really enjoyed Greenwich! Thanks for the suggestions! Hopefully, I'll get to some of those on my next visit.
I love greenwhich. Its a beautiful place.. The only thing is in the summer, the beaches are expensive for non residents. I'm from Connecticut and still would have to pay a lot to go the beach there...but theres a lot to see. Nice video. All the best..
Thank you! I appreciate it! Yeah, the whole beach pass thing was a bit confusing and did seem expensive, but nonetheless, I really had a great day in Greenwich!

Thanks for sharing your visit to Greenwitch. Interesting, you can get there via Grand Central Terminal? I thought that you had to Amtrak that, via Penn Station. But I guess due to it's close proximaty to NYC, you could just take a local train from Grand Central to Greenwitch. Thanks again for sharing your visit
@@Jamesnu Thank you!!! Is it usually an hour or so? And what is the round trip cost during off peak periods. I hope to make it out soon. Thanks again James. Love your content.

Is everything in walking distance once you get off the train station? Also is there plenty of parking at the train station? Reason I'm asking is because I have a friend coming up from NJ and never been to Greenwich. Thanks!
Yeah, everything in this video was very walkable, but Greenwich is pretty big. There are parts of it that I didn't get to see. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the parking situation is at the train station. It wasn't something that I paid attention to.
@@Jamesnu Thank you so much for the quick response! I definitely will tell my friend to take the Old Greenwich Railroad Station. As long we can walk from the station to the restaurants, it's perfect. :) I'll figure out the parking situation. Thank you again!
Thank goodness you didn't have a laptop with you during your trip to the coffee place. It would have been bold to take a stand against their No Laptop Vibes!
I can understand their no laptop rule.. it's not a working environment but a place to enjoy nice leisure time eating..we all need a break from electronic devices sometimes.
When Greenwich was founded, it was part of New Haven Colony, not Connecticut. New Haven Colony was headquartered in New Haven and established by hardline Puritans who found Massachusetts too soft and democratic. New Haven Colony, of course, disappeared long ago and was absorbed by Connecticut and has been part of Connecticut ever since. When New Haven Colony was absorbed by Connecticut right after the Restoration, many of its residents moved to New Ark in New Jersey.
This place only exists as people don’t pay their fair share of taxes. Other place could be like this if hedge funds and companies didn’t fund politicians and lobby for tax breaks
We put the other hand on the table in a French restaurant. And we use a knife even for a salad. We never eat with one hand. This is how Americans got spotted in France and killed by the gestapo. By eating that way.
I personally don't like greenwich. I'm from westport and work in New Canaan. obviously very similar to greenwich. I don't live that far from greenwich I just dont like it.. personally..
