“And talked to god all by myself” and “how would I have got to Tennessee” hit me so close to home, my trucks gotten me to and from florida multiple times through the Carolinas and Tennessee and Virginia after a massive crash that almost totalled it and I broke my phone and lost my gps, but that big red ram got me home safely multiple times and it’s seen me at my worst. Driving through the Smokey’s in Tennessee is a big memory too. Love the song so damn much
Worked the family farm and neighbors to save up enough for a lifted s-10. I loved that first truck, riding back roads, falling in love, hunting, and many great memories of fires out in fields.
@@mikeboris5711 you don’t even know what I’m talking about the Jeep J20 is a truck... made by AMC...in the 70s. And I’m not even talking about 1/2 ton trucks
Riley I appreciate you as a artist. You put a lot into your songs to where we your fans are so very proud of you. I know I'm proud to be your fan. Love this song dearly.👍👍❤️💕❤️❤️❤️
Agreed. The version on Valley Road I though was really really good so hearing this super loud, overproduced, and just fake sounding version made me disappointed and I was waiting for so long for this song to be released as a fully produced song but they just didn't hit the mark here
Huge Riley fan, great song and lyrics, do struggle a bit with his live vocal performances on occasions though. Prefer the studio cuts which never disappoint. 👌

This one hits extra hard for me because my grandfather passed on a July day in 2020, and left me his truck. It's still what I drive to work every day, dunno where I'd be without him and his truck. I take care of it to honor his legacy.
Luke Skywalker, X-Wing pilot yep. I don’t like today’s trucks because all the companies want us cash. They don’t care about their customers. I like old American steel.
Iron horse Ranch yup. I mean, yes Ford and dodge have their differences and similarities, but they’re trucks. They always have been. Memories are made in them. The older ones are better cause yeah, the new ones aren’t the true American steel and they aren’t true pickup trucks. Cause I’m a “pickup man” -joe diffie
Lyrics Why would any teenage boy cut grass? Sweat all summer, savin' cash Dream about turnin' heads downtown Straight pipes on a hand-me-down How would anybodies daddy get around?
