Being a fan of retro throwback first person shooters Prodeus was a must go for me back during day one of it's early access phase. Prodeus now is my latest game on Steam where I unlocked all of it's achievements making it my newest game on my Steam library to set foot on my Perfect Games list out of the twenty-three Perfect Games on my Steam page that I'm currently rocking there. Prodeus is basically how you would get Doom 3 if it played more like Doom 1, Doom 2, and Doom 64. Nice video review btw!

Nice to see that the game has reloading, despite of being an oldschool shooter.

As a fan of classic FPS's, this looks like my kind of game!

I just took a shot in the dark and downloaded this game to my PC through GamePass. Going in with no expectations, I have to admit this game got me out of bed on my day off to enjoy some video games lol. It's nothing that is going to blow you away from a graphical standpoint ( its a 90's shooter in an advanced more technical time in gaming history) with lighting effects that just werent available at the time. if you played games like Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Quake 2, Blood, Heretic, Doom... This is a head nod to those games we enjoyed in a simpler time in life.

the biggest problem with Produes is that is doesn't punish you when you die.

Playing this game for the first time I got the feeling I was going down the level-select list of a game I'd finished before, and only picking the best bits (which in this case happened to be all of them) instead of going through the whole "actual story".

I really wanted to like this game, but it becomes "meh" quite fast. The premise, and the overworld map seem like something I woulda loved in a retro shooter, but the game just feels puddle deep. I actually had more fun just looking through the custom maps people made. It just feels like the maps and tile-sets in the single player become redundant after a few levels.

Needed more story/narration in order to hate the enemies properly, which really kills the motivation like 60% through the game... The soundtrack is awesome and will change based upon combat intensity. Gameplay itself is solid and you can play the campaign 4 player co-op! The player created levels are fun, as well. Has a lot to offer but lacking that soul that makes a game truly great.

It seems that the gunplay these days are mimicking Doom eternal. When I think of retro shooter, I thought that they would diversify because I mean we don't get a retro shooter like the original rainbow six, system shock, or even older like fps in the 80s like total eclipse (I think that's the name)

My only complaint is that at least on ps5, the guns are in 30fps while everything else runs at 60fps, it hurts my eyes so i try to not focus on the guns, but everything else is fantastic, when you consider theres not that many indie boomer shooters on ps5/ps4 besides warhammer 40k boltgun, these are the only 2 that stand out to me, but i do think boltgun does a little bit better job with its gameplay, progression and exploration, tho prodeus is still good fun, as far as story goes i personally dont put that much stock into story, characters and world building in indie boomer shooters, its cool if its there, but its a bonus, i dont expect it nor do i think its important in these types of games, not to mention it becomes a hindrance when story gets in the way of gameplay, especially when in certain games it takes away parts of your arsenal due to story reasons, i just want to run through levels with my full arsenal, thats not asking too much

    Q&A questions :
    - What do you think of the Artemis program ? In about 4-5 years, once again humans will be on the surface of the moon, and if the planned Gateway space station on lunar orbit will be built then we will actually remain there this time around.
    - Microsoft is buying up Activision-Blizzard-King for about 70 billion dollars, can we expect anything good to come out of this or it's just(an admittedly huge) step from Redmont to gobble up every large video game company.
    - What do you think about SUVs ? In my opinion they are a strong contender foor the stupidest and most ugly looking vehicles in humanity's history.

If you give me 5 reviews where you hate the game and 1 review where there is some good and some bad, then I will spend more time with the mid review rather than the 5 hate reviews combined.
Fox example - I already played Prodeus, so I was not interested in the review, but I watched and enjoyed it
Hate reviews - I just click through them for a few sec-s
As a viewer I highly encourage you to not waste your time on games you hate, but rather on games that have something interesting in them

I like oldschool shooters, but Prodeus was fairly meh for me. The lack of enemy variety and level environment variety wear me down quite a bit by the end.

It *is* underwhelming considering how many fantastic retro-style FPSs we've had over the past several years, and this one's just "pretty good."

I ended up really enjoying this game although I agree the shop/progression system really sucked. If you have other modern boomer shooter throwback recommendations let me know
