    Hopefully now people will aware about the importance of surface preparation before painting.

    In my line of work we sometimes have to measure the surface profile of foam products. One of the challenges that we need to overcome is the duometer (squishiness) of the foam. Do you Think a devise like the digital profile gauge would on a foam surface? or is the pressure of the reader needle specifically designed for metal surfaces?

      Unfortunately, due to the "squishiness" of the foam a digital surface profile gauge would not be suitable, and the needle may even pierce into the foam.

    whether this tool can be used to measure small pipes after sandblasting ? what is the minimum pipe size for this tool?

      Using the Convex Surface Profile Probe, the Elcometer 224 can be used to measure the surface profile of convex curved surfaces with a minimum diameter of 75mm (3.0").
