What makes me sick is one that he didn't go to jail and two that he said his childhood was to blame for the way he has acted, many many many people have horrific childhoods, myself included, but I would never dream of hurting another person or causing suffering for another human being.
What message does this send, it tells every like minded individual that you can get away with it, that's what it does!

This has been explained as to why on numerous videos on this platform. He was found guilty of creating not making, this fell into the lowest category of a band C offence. This carries a starting point of 1 year maximum sentence 3 years. His early guilty plea means a deduction of 1/3 so that reduces it to 9 months, then all thee mitigation circumstances come into play and whether or not he is deemed a risk to the public and that reduced it down to 6 months. Only sentences over 2 years 8 months will get a prison sentence anything below that threshold and a suspended sentence can be given.

I know it's creates great ratings for media outlets, but a sense of balance is required.
Edwards had a blemish free record up to this point.
He clearly on the evidence presented wasn't the instigator.
The judge who heard all the evidence and was not guided by hysterical rantings on morning shows said the following.
"The judge listed these as mitigating factors in his sentencing remarks: No previous convictions; remorse, positive character in the past; mental disorder; and that he appeared to have “voluntarily desisted” or “at least asked not to be sent underage images” during the WhatsApp chat"
A similar non celebrity wouldn't have faced jail either.
What Edwards did was awful. His personal and professional life is now in tatters.

I am fed up of people banging on about this already. Edwards received the appropriate sentence in accordance with the sentencing guidelines. The magistrate may have overshot by handing down a suspended sentence as the guidelines actually suggest a probation order… I do not necessarily agree with this of course but the guidelines are the guidelines and they may well need a review but the magistrate did follow the guidelines.

An utter disgrace, the public have more morals, unlike the government and judges, Edward's is a rich man so not having a job is no big deal, his reputation was down to him, he asked for more, and paid big money to get, this case needs referrals to who is in charge of sentencing, he should be in jail, always a medical so called
    expert to defend the rich.

Sets a dangerous precedent for future court cases of similar nature. The defence will simply refer the judge and jury to this case.

Nick Ferrari, failing as an "in touch" journalist yet again.
Despite grossly inappropriate nature of the 17 year oldest situation, there is only one reason why the guy who supplied the images has been spared jail for the other images...because it sets a security blanket for Huw E.
Huw E. Can't be sent to jail if the supplier wasn't. It's a protection strategy. Owing to the need for preservation of the BBC and a Royal friendly presenter.
I understand a great deal about mental health, the affects it can have on people and the remorse people feel after an event. PDF ile issues are never one of them.
