    Bon Scott was the only front man in rock history who could drink a ton of serious alcohol and go on stage in concert and not forget the lyrics and miss a note. Not even the great Diamond David Lee Roth could pull that off. Bon was a legend.

    I believe that Bon would have not only been a great guy to be around, but also a great friend to have. Let me set the record straight on a couple of things: yes, his autopsy does list the cause of death as "death by misadventure", but it ALSO lists "acute alcohol poisoning." The other thing is that he passed out in a friends car. The guy drove Bon to his (Bon's) flat, grabbed his keys, opened the door with the keys, went back out to get Bon, and in the meantime the door had closed, locked behind him, with Bon's keys now IN the flat. So the guy then takes Bon to HIS flat, calls up a friend of Bon's (after trying to lift his unconscious body weight out of the car and not being able to) and the female friend tells the guy to just leave Bon in the car, throw a blanket on him and leave a note telling Bon which flat the guy lives in so that when he wakes up, he can come up there. The guy did all of that. It was just a horrible accidental death. Its not like the guy didnt try to get Bon out of the car, plus the temperature that night was at freezing and Bon had also been seeing a doctor for several months for liver treatment. I hope that clears some misconceptions up for people that come on here and watch this. Love AC/DC, not looking to turn this into a "Bon vs. Brian" debate, but IMO, AC/DC lost something special in their music when Bon died.

    • @JokersWild70
      @JokersWild70 7 лет назад +1

      David Vincent Hey, and I can respect your opinion! They did become a totally different band when Bon died and Brian came in. Even Malcolm, who was always the undisputed leader of AC/DC has said that they would have probably never become what they did without Bon's influence. But I personally enjoy both versions, although they really lost me after "Flick of the Switch." "Ballbreaker" had a few decent songs, and "Rock or Bust" had about 3 that I like, but for me, it will always be "Powerage", "Highway to Hell", "Back in Black" as my 3 favorites. Notable mentions: "Guns for Hire", "Whole Lotta Rosie" (killer, absolutely killer), "Spellbound", "Hard as a Rock", "Jailbreak" (another fucking killer!) "Go Down" and 'Badlands."

    I regret that I never got the chance to witness AC/DC in concert with Bon at the realm ...I have my LET THERE BE ROCK dvd... But let's face it AC/DC would never have been able to carry on with another singer other than Brian Johnson. Brian worked very hard and earned the respect and Loyalty of fans worldwide.. Anybody see the RRHOF ceremony when Steve Tyler inducted the band??.. The fact that they had Bon's nephews onstage to accept the award is a testament to how humble AC/DC is.

      @LordStompyHarpLoonyTunes 4 года назад

      Yeah, partly true but as a performer I used to rely on drugs and alcohol and after about 15 years my bad habits made my performances worse and worse, I literally had to learn to feel OK being sober which took a few years to get the hang of. Now I'm 4 years sober I'm playing better than ever, my focus is much better

    Just slept in his car? Ive had a problem with that for a while. I frequently dive to the bottom of a bottle of Jim beam black, and ive NEVER been drunk enough to want to lie down and pass out in the back of a fuckin limo, in 30-something degree temperatures. I'm not saying there was foul play involved, but the actual truth of the story about that night and his death has never even been gotten close to. Too many of those people he was with have thier reasons for lying about what happened. And the authorities never gave a good fuck because he was just another dead rocker.

    I don't know about him hitting paydirt when he joined the band, unless you mean as far as something else to shoot for and staying out of trouble maybe. Because they didn't really make a lot of money until Highway to Hell got big and when he died there was only 30,000 in his bank account. And while a lot of this could be true aspects of how the man was I think a lot of stuff has been embellished over the years, because he rarely hung around the other guys when they was not recording or on tour

    I'll never forget seeing AC DC with Bon Scott in 1978 when I was 17 years old they opened for Ritchie Blackmore's rainbow where I lived they were so good it was jaw-dropping I don't think anybody knew what to do they blew rainbow right off the stage Bon Scott will always be to me the greatest rock and roll singer besides Elvis that ever lived and Angus Young unbelievable Talent I'm so fortunate to see those guys in their prime but please Angus don't make another AC DC album make a solo album of your own music without AC DC and without Axl Rose it'll be number 1 if you do time to let ACDC rest.

    saw them in their prime, on the highway to hell tour in 1979. opener, btw, was a hitherto unknown band (in Switzerland anyway) called Judas Priest....
    oh dear, that stage energy of Bon and Angus, it was just amazing.
    To me, Bon is the best frontman and entertainer ever, with a voice like a howling sandstorm. unheard of before and after.

    Bon took a lot of Stevie Wrights vocalisms . Stevie was lead singer for the Easybeats, George Youngs band who were huge in australia in the 60's and had a huge hit worldwide with Friday on my Mind. Go look up Hard Road by Stevie Wright 1974, proto AC/DC

      And Stevie Wright sounds inspired by Rod Stewart on that track.

    we knew him as his rose with ACDC when they were nothing..He was a aussie larrikan..even though he had the Scottish genes..He epitomised every Australian at the time..burn the candle at both ends...rage..and rage again..innocent and corrupt at the same time..a devil and child in one..he had charisma in buckets full... most Australian crews had a Scott like character...

    Honestly as an Aussie the only other r+r singer I can compare Bon to is the late an great Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The same no bullshit down to earth , us against them , no surrender mentality .Americans should celebrate Ronnie more first. Skynyrd should've never split up after the disaster just as AC/DC didn't. "Give me back my bullets, another bullet to bite on" !

    To Billy Corgan's remark about Bon's passionate singing, I agree, but would also add that Steve Marriott (The Small Faces, Humble Pie) was also a dynamo at the microphone.
