Hi we met you at Wigans 75th.
We went on Thursday and enjoyed, mostly looking at the various models we are currently on like the Nigel Gresley 01 and ate Asia oh and Black Five etc. Chatted to many including Martin Evans who we meet up with every year. I have been most years since the second one. Lovely video. Thanks David and Lily.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It sounds like you had a fantastic time. Great to hear you had the chance to catch up with Martin Evans too-what a tradition! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I really appreciate your support over the years.

Some superb models there. Surprised at how many appear to have never run.

I was on a model stand for the 4 days. Have done this for many years now. Numbers of visitors seemed up, but trade stands down some regulars not there this year. I think this is now the only major ME show left in the UK. Anyone know differently?

Harrogate made a return in 2023 but missed this year. It is now scheduled for Friday, May 2nd, and Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, so fingers crossed there will be enough interest for the show to go ahead.

Good to hear that. Let's hope it's well organised and supported .

Many clubs do not support live steam running and open days.
Model Engineering is under represented in the media, it's all about table top electrics.

Are all those cables passing through the various locomotives security related? I ask because they seem ubiquitous across the many stalls and vendors... I assume if so that they are a preventative / deterence measure as I can't reasonably imagine some of those larger models disapearing unnoticed. But then again maybe theft is more prevalent that I imagine in the model engineering world!

I went on the Thursday, The standard of models shown was very good, But i thought it was a lot smaller than previous years certainly not many model engineering club stands, quite disappointing.

Thanks for your comment! I’m glad to hear you thought the models on display were of high quality, but it's a shame the event felt smaller this year with fewer model engineering club stands. Hopefully, future shows will bring back more of those elements. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Surprised you say that because I thought the opposite. There seemed to be more stands than in previous years and off the top of my head Nottingham Society were back along with EKP and 17d on the trade side. The only obvious stand missing this year was CMD and of course the live steam O-gauge layout that used to take up one corner. I certainly spent far longer at the exhibition than in the last few years.
