You don't sand a floor with a angle grinder. But you grind edges, in the industrial sense of epoxy over lays, with a 7" hand grinder with a shroud that that is made for the application. I used them for seven years, we also polish concrete with them as well. 12 seg diamond cups or 24 seg diamond cups. But for the big parts of the floor we used diamatic 780 pro. A planetary grinder. This dust shroud would never be used in cutting metal because fire still happens in a vacuum and the filters are flamable. But with concrete it is a MUST silica is dangerous and causes painful silicosis.

@General Pershing what are you talking about??? That orange plastic is only orange cause they mix in orange pigment... The pigment has no structural benefits what so ever. Generally though plastic like what is used in plumbing , is colour coded so it will be easy to tell apart from other things , for example when a pipe is dug up from the ground. At least that is a practice in Europe , no clue about the us.
@@TheBurnknight my science degree expired last week but I think he means that clear "plastic" is usually acrylic which is hard and brittle. While the orange thing pictures here looks like PVC. I've personally never seen clear PVC. I suspect it's an unavoidable tradeoff to be "clear" it must be hard/brittle so that it doesn't scratch and become opaque.

you could save yourself time and just avoid the second hole. If you put that collar on an angle grinder, I guarantee you won't have any dust to worry about.
Yeah... All of mine have been removed. Used them for years and years. You just stay out of line with whatever disk and you'll be fine. Wear gloves, sleeves, glasses and a face shield you'll be just fine.

Might actually be good for someone panning to grind their concrete floor and do epoxy, the shrouds are already made and are very nice to have. One big difference.between this one and store bought though is the three bolts that twist into the grinders neck to hold the shroud from spinning around.
That's actually not a bad idea, I've used a shop vac n combo with grinder a ton of tiles cutting out old tile bathrooms, always had 1 person work shop vac n 1 person on the grinder

i think they made the channel for useless stuff, "totally handy"......

Oh thanks my dude, I forgot youtube had that option, and I was loosing my shit about this good for nothing channel reappearing in my feed
Why did you melt the hole when you already had a unibit.
I’m guessing to offset it and make it sit lower
I dont take advise from people who grind plastic lol get a razor knife or metal saw.

Good idea, though you lose being able to see what you are grinding. You could put an acrylic window or something to remedy that.

Cutting plastic with a grinder is sketchy unless you know what disc to use.
The plastic melts...sets and grabs the disc - it can shatter a disc.

Better to make a small opening in the rubber seal. If the seal is closed, you can shut down the vacuum, no dust will be removed.

Micro plastics yum!!!

You can't see your work. Maybe if it were clear.

Make the actual shroud shorter and duct tape around it to create a better seal

Never ever remove a safety guard on an angle grinder. Are you for fucking real?

I prefer having the guard on but every now and them you have to take the guard off to get the grinder positioned properly
That disk he put on will never explode. It’s impossible. He basically convert it to a cup grinder. And it’s for dust control that’s it.
