I stumbled upon this video, and it was like getting a dose of interior design inspiration right from my couch! The tips and tricks they shared for transforming a space without breaking the bank were super practical and easy to follow.
Hate the popcorn ceilings. Hate ‘em. Such a slog to get the popcorn off. Nicely done here - you have good taste. Love the idea of leftover paint from your local solid waste disposal agency. Great idea.
I love the whole room makeover but I especially like the wood slats you put on the wall and ceiling. It seems to elevate the entire room makeover. Great job.

Amazing transformation. Love the draperies behind the bed to the ceiling! I would pull the bed forward an inch or so so they hang free and don’t look squished. Love the woodwork strips on the wall and ceiling. Stunning! Perfect room!

First things first, I LOVE the headboard and the secretary. I also love how you changed the end tables. Not too keen on the wall feature. It's a bit too much for me visually, but I do like the warm tones of the wood through out. I am also not a fan of all white walls. I would have used the wall with the headboard for a accent color that would highlight and make the wood of the room, including the headboard, pop. Just personal aesthetics, but overall I think you did amazing.

Great job Melissa. What wasn't to like. I assume this is being used as a spare room/guest room/office. It is not too cluttered. I love the fan and the strips on the wall and ceiling. The whole look altogether just fits.

That's so frustrating. One time I took fall photos of my son, then accidentally vacuumed up the SD card at a self serve car wash. I felt like an idiot, but these things happen as we juggle our crazy lives.

Like what you did especially the slats. I don't agree with your choice of a cheap mattress. Sleep is so important I hope you aren't suffering with that mattress. Get rid of it as soon as you can afford a better one. I know you probably did not pay for the sheets but paying $300 for sheets seems incongruent in comparison to the mattress.

I have a lamp over the desk and a huge light in the middle of the room that’s controlled by remote from the bed as well. :)

Hmmmm. The slat wall is a home run, everything else is....no bueno. You changed a 1980s room into a 1940s room, so you lost about 40 years. Also, why not paint those awful closet doors? A nice Benjamin Moore Advance Satin paint and some modern pulls, perhaps in a mauve, would really make that room pop.
