Maspion 16" Industrial Exhaust Fan

- My old 1980's CKE exhaust fan randomly threw a heated fit, and refused to run the other day while I was dusting some old parts. Which is why I decided to retire it, and get this fan as a replacement.
What you see on your screen is a Maspion light duty industrial exhaust fan, model MV-3401 NEX in grey. It's one of the cheapest new 16" metal exhaust fan in the market, 2nd only to Sekai's 16" shuttered exhaust fan, which has a lower build quality, and airflow. This fan is priced at around Rp. 540.000, or 37 USD.
It has the 4 P blades normally seen in standard//light duty industrial exhaust fans size 16" and up. Coupled with the 4 motor brackets, this fan makes a sound that is similar to other P bladed industrial exhaust fans, which is a loud, low pitched rumble.
It seems like Maspion cheaped out on their production line, only using 1 set of machines to produce both their shuttered, and unshuttered exhaust fans, which is why the frame on my fan has an extension for non existent shutters. I had to remove the frame, and mount it backwards on the motor brackets in order to make it fit on my window. I don't think this will be a huge problem on construction sites, but for me, it's a slight annoyance as the now backwards frame box the blades in, and that ruins the airflow, plus it makes a bit more noise.
Airflow is a lot better than the fan it replaces, which is already starting to rust out. Power consumption is also lower than the CKE. The longevity is not yet known as both the shuttered, and unshuttered offerings are pretty unpopular, and I haven't been able to source reports about these fans. But for now, I think it's a great fan, and a great market competitor, especially for the price.

My school have 2 3D 16" industrial exhaust fans from early 2000s. They looked like yours and that's exactly how they sounded when turned on!. It's installed in a room where transformers and breakers are located.

People don't go to Maspion to look for industrial exhaust fans, that's the reason why these are extremely rare.
Nice one! That's got a neat blade design. The center cap on the hub is a nice touch, though it sort of softens the bold industrial look in my opinion.
This blade design has been around for... honestly forever lol. Manufacturers usually put a chrome center cap on these blades to cover screws, welding, or the hub. I do agree on it making the fan look less industrial-y, but I really don't mind.
Fans in asia usually come with that silver cap on everything. Exhaust fans, table fans etc.
In 2017, I planned to buy the Maspion MV-3400 NEX exhaust fan (similar as your MV-3401 NEX, but it have a grills) in Glodok, but in the Bintang Terang store, it haven't sold unfortunately 😭😭 So I'm decided to buy the CKE ESS-B14/1 instead...
Anyway, the particular fan have also available in other brands, such as Japanese Sekai that these parts are made in Japan but assembled in Indonesia. This Maspion is completely made in Indonesia.
Sekai's offerings are definitely not Japanese made. Their paintjob, design, and overall build quality screams China.

Ball bearings fan, especially in brand new condition have the longest spindown time than most other fans hahaha
I don't know if they have wasps in Indonesia, but if one tried to fly in through the window where the exhaust fan is, it wouldn't be able to bypass the blades and would instead get sliced into hundreds of pieces.
Wasps rarely venture into big cities down here. They usually stay in forests, parks, or small villages. I've had insects chopped to bits by my fan before, mostly small insects, but big ones, although a rare occasion, leave disgusting marks on the blades.
@@TheFanUniverse (jealous tone of voice) Lucky. Where I live, wasps and bees alike can be either found every once in a while, or at least twice a day or so because they will have been everywhere
That fan will remove all air in 5 mins.

This fan is Same on Asahi "16" Industrial Wall Mounted Exhaust Fan in Philippines the blades are just straight and colored with red
I think the fan you're mentioning have a different blade style than this one.

@@faizansari4269 as far as I know, this fan isn't available in India. The only way to get this exact fan there is by importing one, which is more expensive than buying a locally made fan.

Heated fit as in... severe failure?
I'm most certainly going to have the whole motor windings redone. The motor goes up to full speed at a cold start, then the speed decreases, followed by excessive heat.

Saya lihat ada bilah/siku pada body Exhaust, jadi seolah memang dirancang untuk posisi semestinya dari LUAR
Bodi di kipas ini saya balik posisinya supaya bisa dipasang di jendela situ. Kalau ditanya ada efek atau tidak dari pemasangan dari luar/dalam, pasti ada efeknya, tapi saya rasa tidak signifikan

Kipas ukuran itu mungkin kurang cukup, apalagi kalau musim kemarau. Ukuran 12” semestinya lebih bisa membantu

di kotaku yang model industri cuma Sekai IME1217n 12 inch itu cukup ga? soalnya ga ada CMH jadi ga tau daya sedotnya berapa.
Kalau exhaust industri 12" seperti itu anginnya kurang lebih sama dengan exhaust fan plastik 12", tapi suaranya lebih berisik yang industri
