Jami I can’t stress enough how important you are to the farm. A feminine touch is so soothing for the animals and is much needed. You are patient, compassionate and abound in love. Jami, you need to get an AirTag on Sookie’s collar. This way you’ll always know where she is. This can be done with all the dogs and the cats. They make all kind of attachments for their collars, so the device won’t bother them. They’re 4 for $99 and then get the needed attachment. Tons of options on Amazon.

So, after stopping the video twice I finally was able to calm down and watch intently. Not all angels have wings, some have pearls & lbd or crocs. Amazing job getting all the animals undercover especially Tiny Tina. That poor baby was terrified. I know that in their natural habitat ostriches don't have shelters and it's instinct to hunker down and wait it out but good lord 10" of rain in 10 hrs isn't the norm. So thankful all the babies are okay. I'm sure Sookie was okay. Sitting in someone's house warm and dry going this is okay but I miss Mom & Dad and the bigs, the littles and all the feathers too. Oh my goodness! That was a rain, a huge Texas rain. Thank God y’all have sandy soil!!🙏
And so glad y’all have the barns to keep the animals in. How was Petunia and Lola? Didn’t see them in the video. I pray that someone is taking care of Souki 🙏💙. You and Lester, I’m sure had terrible memories brought from this rain of the hurricane. May God give you much love and peace!!!!! In a way this was not a great video to see all the babies soaked and scared, but you two, yourselves out in that rain tending so faithfully to your babies. Do ostrich’s stay in the rain like that on these ostrich’s farms? Many many many prayers and love to you and Lester and every single baby y’all have! 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

I was in St. Thomas when we got 21 inches in 12 hours. It's TERRIFYING. My blood pressure was off the charts and I was on the edge of my seat watching this. So glad your whole animal family were so great and that you all are such great stewards!

Wow that was quite the storm. You are blessed to have the Sandy soil so the water soaks away and it’s not a big mud hole in your corrals and yard. So thankful that all the animals and you and Lester survived it.

Wow! I’m so glad y’all are okay. You know I got my beagle, Lady, as a stray. Two people on Nextdoor, had posted a picture of her, and said she had shown up, at their house, and wondered if she belonged to anyone. Then one afternoon, several days later, I was driving home and saw her walking down the street.
I stopped, called her, and she jumped right in my car. I made lost and found notices all over social media. No one ever claimed her. So, I took her and had her fully vetted. She is not fully housebroken still. And, she is scared of everything ( very unbeaglelike) so, I suspect she was dumped from some of the apartment communities around where we lived.
I’m hoping and praying Sookie is curled up in someone’s bed, just like Lady is with me. And, that she will eventually find her way home.❣️

Lester and Jami you all did a great job caring for your animals during the rain storm. Ten inches of rain in ten hours a lot of rain. Seeing the ostriches laying in the standing water was awful but you calmly handled the situation. Thanks for sharing and you all did a great job!❤️

What what a storm! It is amazing how all the animals bunker down together and get alone ect in extreme cases like this anmials are just so amazing. I find it so interesting the big birds choose to stay out in the rain. I wonder if they like the water ir what? More reading and learning for us all. So glad all is ok! You and Lester did it!! Well done Jami♡

Good evening Jami and Lester. That much rain in a few hours can be spooky. Almost looked like Tropical Storm Imelda. I remember that when it hit the farm, didn't seem like much but kept pouring and the grounds started getting flooded. Flash Backs, so I can imagine how anxious both of you and Lester got. Bri bringing over Elfie was cute too, he couldn't stay in his little house but he didn't want to stay on the porch as he was afraid of the weather. Glad everything turned out okay and another day will come for ISS. HAGN

😬😶😶😶 I prayed so hard for all our critters there! I get absolutely torn up when it rains and here it comes now... 😪 . I can't get y'all and the babies out of my mind. I can't control the fear after Harvey got our house. Jami, your voice is so soothing and reassuring. Poor babies! Maybe build a hay bar that's high and dry that they'll go under like Santianna did. Just an overhang or something. I'm probably not being rational, but it's distressing. Bless you for trying and caring and succeeding!!! I can breathe now. THIS IS WHY I SUPPORT ISS and the family. You're real and you freaking care so much about the babies. Love you as family. So weird, the captioner on my phone keeps saying "applause".......nope! Unless it's for your bravery. My daughter works at a church in Kingwood and I was terrified for her in her apt with the tornados. All was safe for her and her parishioners, thank God.
Thank you for showing the happy aftermath. Blessed, so very blessed.

That was quite the deluge. And it triggered bad memories... PTSD...
I know it wasn't easy to get the ostriches out of the rain and moved into a covered area. Y'all did a great job.
After experiencing several hurricanes in Louisiana, I still get triggered when storms come... and I didn't experience the really bad ones. It's one of many reasons I moved to the West coastal area.
My heart ❤ goes out to y'all.
It's important to count our blessings.
And y'all work hard to do that.
    🙏

On the plus side, the pond is full. Thank goodness for the barns!! We need to figure out an easy sandbag, movable barrier for the barn openings for these type of rain deluges. The ostriches five acres seem to need a berm of sorts in the middle but that would assume they are smart enough to go to higher ground to lay down which is iffy. Wonder if they would go for a covering like the hay cover structures; the same for poor Donkey Dan? All of us together are bound to come up with a feasible solution.
