With the granny square cardigan, could you perhaps increase the amount of joining rows until it gets to the point you go back to the original amount of rows but add in a new square instead? x
With the oversized creamy sweater i wonder why dont you try reknitting it with a different yarn with which maybe you are more familiar or one you can trust that it wont strech as much?
