This is a true story. Aged 13 in 1965 I was attending Spring Grove Grammar in Hounslow England. For some reason I was still at School fairly late with no one at all seemingly around in the corridors on the 3 floors as I walked, and all the noises carried fairly easily around the empty spaces and voids. I can even remember where I was on the 1st Floor to this day when all of a sudden I heard this magical record being played in the Prefects Room on a record player. I was transfixed and the acoustic sound coming towards me was just so so wonderful. It was this song and I simply listened from about 30 yards away from the room not daring to go nearer. I'll never forget the experience and didn't even tell anyone, because it was private and magic to me. Neil Raymond
Nothing even comes close to the Stones playing this. Keith and Ronnie's acoustic guitar playing, Charlie beating steadily on the drums and Mick singing and strutting better than ever. Timeless..touches my soul.
This was one of the first Stones songs that I learned to play when I was a kid (14 yrs old). It was touching to see them do it live-almost 40 years later. I still remember my mother washing the dishes and looking over at me while I practiced this.
Ho-hum. They should have hung it up in the 70’s. Jagger’s vocals even worse than I recall, band sounds like they’re playing instruments from Toys R Us even when they’re plugged in. Most overrated band in history.
Brian Gilmore You’re naive if you think everyone should agree with you to make you happy, Gilmore. I listened to the Stones when they first got together...before you were born. They were great then, but stopped creating fresh stuff in the 70’s and should hang it up, Fool.
@@ianthomas5955 There is not a twelve string on the recording but he's playing one here. Phil Spector plays the detuned electric guitar on the record. Many early Stones records had Keith on a twelve string acoustic...starting with Not Fade Away, now there's an acoustic guitar opening.
Only got to see 2 concerts in my life but best 2 ever saw. Bridges of Babalyn & Voo Doo Lounge tours in 90s! Greatest band around. So much fun. Put on shows to REMEMBER! Hope around 20 more years!
The devil in rock music started with this song . Sure Robert Johnson dead hellhound On my trail but none of that old blues really sounds that dark and ominous, this is one of the earliest songs to really have an uneasy dark vibe
It is a crying shame that the Stones' VERY early work like this is so seldom heard any more. Brilliant material........ in my opinion, the best stuff they ever did.
THE WOOOH GETS KEITH MOVING ,REALISES HES ONSTAGE ,LOVE THE STONES REGARDLESS, RESPECT DEFINITLY, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER KEITH RICHARDS ALL THE STONES
Remember the 60's ?? The beers, the vodka , the stones all drunk??? Well none of that anymore, the stones wanna live till they're 100 and play live in 2035
One of the best if not the bestvon the planet , my dad seen them at murryfield stadium Edinburgh ,he went straight to the concert after hid work on the friday, ONLY YIN WITH A HI VIZ JACKET N STEELYS ,N THEN THE 4AM PHONE CALL, I NEED A TAXI IM IN DIANES POOL BAR IN EDINBURGH ,LOL ONLY MY DA X
The Beatles were a close knit band early on, developed and matured, influenced fashion, culture, sold more records, altered the course of music, in their seven years. The Stones decayed, dragged their lame, tinfoil sounding band out every so often. Jagger proving he had no voice, no instrumental skills. There were garage bands that were better.
Very cool!; I have always really liked this song and Micks voice while singing it! Sounds pretty dang good here!! So glad he is is doing well and is able to carry on.
Unless, of course, you’ve taken time to listen to others. CCR, Beatles, Zepplin, Lynyrd, Chicago Transit, Aerosmith, etc. Stones probably the most overrated band in history.
Heavy Mental 🤣 Beatles not a 70’s band done in 1970. All the others you mentioned idolized and or were influenced by as you call them the most overrated band ever. You mention Aerosmith. Tyler and Perry even came up with a nickname like Mick and Keith’s Glimmer Twins- the Toxic Twins. Their look was totally a Stones ripoff. The Stones set the pace and others copied and followed
flyingburritobro68 Son, You misquote like a politician. I was alive to see Cream, Hendrix, RS, etc., so I know when the Beatles disbanded. The Stones preceded some bands you mention chronologically, but their dinosaur status is assured. Jagger couldn’t play an instrument, nor sing, and if you were old enough to see him even in his prime, you’d know he had no rhythm, quite evident when he performed w/ others. Richards was a good rhythm guitarist, but they were very limited, primitive sounding. (If you like longevity, go to a nursing home). The Beatles set the standard, the Stones tried to follow, as did DC5, but lacked deep talent. CCR was much better instrumentally than your heroes, as were the Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chicago Transit, and next to Led Zepplin, the Stones sound like Bananarama. You should probably post on someone like Taylor Swift, perhaps?
Awesome recording! Reminds of the days when you could actually see the Stones perform instead of watching them on big screen projectors .Especially if you slept in lawn chairs to buy tickets several days before the tickets went on sale. Thanks so much!

Anyone else notice that Mick is directing the band thru Ron? Its like Keith is just playing. He used to set the bands beat thru Charlie. It seems to me from watching all the videos that he doesn't anymore. However most observers state that Keith is playing better than ever. JUST PLAYING

The fabulous Mick Jagger has lost none of his shine. Age does not wither him.

Same here, but Series 3 guy .. lol
What a great song I always loved that tune..Playing that song all those years later is a testament to the stones longevity .The great Rolling Stones..

Brian Gilmore Imaginative retort, Brian. Do your parents know that you’re playing on your computer?
Mick & Keith got a 2 for 1 deal on those shirts.
Most of us never realized what an incredible acoustic guitar player Keith Richards is.
Anyone who's heard Richards' acoustic rhythm intro on Street Fighting Man would be well aware of his genius.

Rest in Peace Charlie, thank you for everything! ❤️🥁
I read a great comment about the stones ..'The world will end before they do '..It has to be repeated !! ..absolutely brilliant stones
Wished i could take you to a stones concert

Fantastic

He's not "A drummer"; Charlie Watts is THE drummer.
Charlie playing a 6 piece kit! Wow
Still the greatest rock and roll band in the world. Love you Mick💙💙💙
You're old
At $300 a ticket? What a crappy show

ALWAYS LIKED THIS TRACK.THEY SHOULD PLAY HEART OF STONE AS WELL.
Yes Paul . I agree with you. Heart of Stone is great song, but it never seems to make it into their live performances.
BE NICE TO HEAR LADY JANE WHICH IS A BEAUTIFUL SONG AS IS ANGIE.ALSO FOOL TO CRY WOULD SOUND GREAT.
And what about Back Street Girl?
It's such a pearl and they seem to have forgot it! 😊
WAITING ON A FRIEND WOULD SOUND GOOD AND I LOVE ALWAYS HEAR YOU SIGH.
Yeah “Heart Of Stone” would be great, would also like to hear “You Better Move On” and other early stuff but I guess they can’t please everybody
The Stones are still Rockin' with no signs of slowin' down. Awesome to see! Today's so-called 'acts' and 'performers' don't even measure up.
Fantastic!!!!!! long live these legends.......the stones r the best......

Talk about longevity the Beatles 10 yrs was a flash in the pan compared to the stones. 50+ yrs.
Actually only 7, but who has accomplished more...?!

If I didn't know who these guys were, I'd say they were in their 20s and on top of their game.!
Not with a gut like Keith's :(
They were on top of their game in 1973...now they're just a circus show playing for $$$$$$.
